Here are a couple of Idol questions I have been pondering.
  1. Has anyone else noticed how much better Ryan looks since he threw out his trendy tee shirts, dyed his hair back to its natural color and started wearing suits? Much more ‘Dick Clark-ish’ wouldn’t you say?
  2. Can certain Idol’s from this years picks, overcome their IMAGE challenges even though they are tremendously talented? (Mandisa, Eliott Yamin, Bucky)? Not to be uncharitable - but hey, this IS Hollywood we are talking about. I often think, “Mandisa is the most talented female singer, but they won’t be as generous to her as Ruben Stoddard as far as image. Is it because she is female?”

on # 2…I agree…but maybe this is the year…Mandisa is the best so far…
 
I totally agree with the image thing. Elliott and Mandisa are my favorites off this week but they do need to improve their image. If they don’t show drastic changes in the next month they will be gone. Kellie is cute, but I don’t think she is nearly talented enough. But she has a better chance of winning jus because of her marketability. Sad but true.
 
I don’t care for Elliot’s voice as much - but Mandisa, her I love! I think she could wear clothes more suitable for her figure… skin tight jeans look good on just about nobody.

Did anyone see her response to Simon after she had heard him say, “We will need to get a bigger stage!” She said something along the lines of, “Simon - I have been forgiven by my Lord Jesus Christ so I have already forgiven you for that comment.”

Amen sister!

Might as well start one now …

They keep saying that there is great talent this year … but I thought last season had much better talent.

However, having said that … I’ll be rooting for Taylor Hicks!!!

There’s just something about the guy that just makes him so likeable!

He’s my favorite too! And I loved his performance last night. I actually was hooting and clapping by the time he was done.

I’m not sure about Kinnik Sky…But very possible for the others…

I think you’re probably right…although I find Kevin really likable.

I think you’re right. But it might be close between Ayla and Kinnik. We’ll soon know.

I tried to vote last night for the first time. I dialed for the whole 2 hours and only got through 4 times to vote for Taylor Hicks. I don’t think he’s going tonight! 👍 I didn’t even vote 2 hours straight for Carrie. And I have *Jesus take the wheel * as my cell phone ring!!

I was thinking this choice over earlier. It may be Ayla instead of Kinnik.

The best time to get through is after the last singer while they are doing the recap. The phone lines are open then. We were able to vote 5 times in a row.

I think Kinnik will go.

I actually thought she looked better this week than ever before. I thought the brown top was flattering, too.
 
Carol Marie…you were right on the girls (Ayla and Kinnck)

Oh, I am upset about Gedeon. 😦 He wasn’t even on my radar to go tonight. I never thought that would happen. And how did Melissa get into the top 12 over Kinnik and Ayla? O well, it seems I am often surprised by this show. We were 1/2 right anyway. 😉
 
Does anyone else nickname the singers? I saw someone call one “brown top”.

I don’t even know their names:
I thought “Squishy” should have been voted off tonight. He’s the 16 yr old who sings ballads. Paula said she just wanted to “squish” him during one judging.

“Peter Brady” was on my cut list.
 
I wouldn’t think that guy would be called “Squishy”. Whenever I look at him I think “Chicken Little”. That is what me and my friends have been calling him.
 
After Clay Aiken “lost” to Ruben in Season 2 I swore I would never pick up the phone and vote again. And I haven’t. I think the judges sway people into voting who they want to see win. Last year Simon was on every talk show saying he thought Carrie would be the winner. And this year Kelli Pickler and Paris are getting a lot of special attention.

I think a boy has a good chance of winning this year as there has been 3 girls and only one guy. And I think the field is wide open for now.
