Right on Hagia

The church was in need of reform from day one. We can either try to make it in our fallen nature or we can try to make it in the nature of Jesus. So often our idea may be just as bad as another, so keep on praying from the Lord to show you the way. I can only see it as God as a father making sure his children learn their way to become mature. He will encourge, he will chatise, but he’ll try to make us do it own our as much as we can. The main differance between the US and the other countries for me is that the US is my home.

HagiaSophia:
it is not that we cannot serve, it is that we will not serve.
Hagia, generally I agree with your very eloquent post. I do however have one obstacle to agreeing with it in totality:
  1. ecumenism: when all is said and done I do not know how to do this. Personally, I want our bishops to be giving us more opportunities for ecumenical prayer services and for ecumenical works of charity. In addition, I want them to advise us as to how to go about holding the lamp of Christ in our conversations with people of other faiths. Please do not say it is obvious. It is not obvious. We live in a fallen world where not even the fundamentals can be agreed upon except among ourselves and even then…
  2. evangelism: see (1).
