Cool article. Very educational.

I agree, praying the Rosary everyday will do wonders for your soul, your spirit, you emotional and mental well being…the Blessed Mother is awesome, she can bring you so close to her son. 👍
yes!!!🙂

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!👍 👍 👍 :gopray2:

 Why would Satan and his minions spew hatred etc toward Jesus and not Mary. Jesus is God. More important than anything or anyone. Doesn’t make sense.

Now I will read the article and perhaps that will be answered. It does make me, right now, doubtful of anything said by Pedro Barrajon. But off to read… If any have any ideas as to why, I hope you will post.

Satan knows that if he insults His Mother, it’ll be one sin that wouldn’t be forgiven. 😃
Good point Cathgal. Is it possible that satan knows that one day he and his cohorts will grow weary of the state of their existance. It is too late to go to God, but the one peson whom God will listen to is Mary. Perhaps this is their secret hope, the one thing that allows them to hang on and survive hell is the hope that one day Mary will intercede for them. It is unlikely that it will work, but in that situation any hope, no matter how small makes life bearable.

I’ve read before, somewhere, that Satan fears the Blessed Mother most because of his immense pride. It is one thing for Jesus, the Supreme Creator of the Universe (and Satan’s own creator) to rebuke him…it is quite another for a mere human, a woman no less, to have power over him! Satan can not stand the fact that this human woman has been raised to a glory he can’t even begin to comprehend. She has been made Queen of Heaven and Earth and been bestowed with more honors than any other creature. It pains Satan to be humbled by a woman…

Tig, Some things we are not allowed to understand in this life. Being somewhat aware of the spirit world, everything Father Barrajon said makes perfect sense, and was no small comfort. The Mother of God is the one thing sacred to even the demons. Please keep your mind open and don’t be afraid to call Father Barrejon by his title. He is a spiritual father.

The peace of Christ to your seeking mind.

I am so sorry as I thought I did call him Father. My bad and no disrespect in any way meant. How I could not put Father when I meant to…so sorry. 😊

I still wonder. The most sacred of all is God - even His very name. To me He has precedence over all. Maybe as you say it is a mystery but one I wonder about. I imagine that the name of God itself and Mary His mother and all the saints, don’t appeal much to Satan and his demons. But as stated, Satan has more respect for Mary than for God? Messed up to me but then why…
Eventually, everyone will bow at the name of Jesus.

I will try to keep my mind open for sure. At least I hope so. Thank you for your response. 🙂

Perhaps, scripture can shed some light on why the Demons won’t insult Mary.
Matthew 12:32:
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven,
Just because people who speak against Jesus will be forgiven and people that speak against the Holy Spirit will not be - does this mean that the Holy Spirit is greater than Jesus?

Similiarly, just because demons can’t speak out against Mary, but they can against Jesus, doesn’t mean that Mary is greater than Jesus.

Being greater clearly isn’t the criteria that Our Lord uses.

An easy oversight to make. Thank you for saving me from making it! Some Protestants do not use the term “Father”, due to a peculiar reading of Matthew 23:9. However, Christ Himself condemns the Pharisees for NOT honoring their “father” (Matthew 15:3-9), reminding them it was one of the ten commandments.

I was quite comforted by Father Barrejon’s comments. With all of the power the media give to Satan and his demons, It is great to hear that fear does not enter into the exorcism-except on the part of the demon!

The more I learn about the church, the more I realize that Satan has power over you only with your consent. So, I have to be strong and rid myself of weakening sin via regular reconcilliation.

In a heavenly sense, there’s just “something about Mary”. Some day, we will know the reason. Until then, we have but faith and trust.

Speaking against Jesus can be from not knowing. As Jesus from the cross said Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. Sinning against the Holy Spirit, from what I was taught, is a deliberate denial, turning away from the complete truth given to one by the Holy Spirit. Denying the clear works of God and attributing them to Satan, with full complete knowledge.

All that said, clearly Mary is not above Jesus, as you post. Maybe having a woman have power over him, ticks Satan off, as twf put it (better in his post), has something to do with it all.

Just a puzzlement to me. What and however God uses to kick Satan’s buns is good news - no matter my understanding or not of it all. 😃

“…It is great to hear that fear does not enter into the exorcism-except on the part of the demon!” -po18guy

The only reason that applies is because I am not there. Great fear would definitely be mine. And run, boy can I run fast when I am scared. I also don’t open doors that have odd noises coming from the other side. Just me.

The only thing I am fully aware of and know of as the truth is that one must have complete faith in Jesus and that is vital. I think you are right on about faith and trust. God bless.

Hello Tig and welcome to the forums!

Yes, Jesus is God and God is above all. I could see why you are confused that Satan is afraid of Virgin Mary and sometimes not afraid of Jesus.

I can give you a few examples and hopefully you might understand a bit more:
  1. Have you ever sinned against Jesus? Why would we sometimes NOT commit sin if someone is around us? remember that we are afraid of people seeing us but we are not afraid of God seeing us?
Does this mean we put people above God?
  1. Why would the sin against the Holy Spirit is not forgiven if the Holy Spirit and Jesus are one.
  2. Nowadays, there are many people do not honor Mary. Could Jesus allow Her name to be the weapon against Satan so that many will come to love His Mom?
Jesus teaches us to love our father and mother; He also teaches us to love Virgin Mary as our Heavenly Mother.

Jesus humble Himself to be flesh like us; to be poorer than us; to be crown with thorns, to be spitted at; to be hung on the Cross like a criminal. He can certainly still humble Himself to make the name Mary be something that Satan is afraid of.

Thank you water for you kind welcome and post. Points well made especially point three. Well said and something indeed for me to think upon. Much thanks.

You’re very welcome, Tig.

This is why the Holy Rosary is a very important prayer:
"…Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen!

a quote from Catholic news regarding Pope John Paul II’s last moment -
Father Jarek Cielecki, director of a Vatican TV station, gave more of the details of the Holy Father’s last moments: “The Holy Father died looking towards the window as he prayed, and that shows that in some way he was conscious,” Cielecki said. “A short while before dying, the Pope raised his right hand in a clear, although simply hinted at, gesture of blessing, as if he became aware of the crowd of faithful present in St Peter’s Square, who in those moments were following the reciting of the Rosary,” he added. “Just after the prayer ended, **the Pope made a huge effort and pronounced the word ‘Amen’. **A moment later, he died.”
