Scottish Catholic diocese ordains married former Anglican priest
INVERNESS, Scotland (CNS) – A married man and former Anglican priest has become a Catholic priest in Scotland. Father James Bell, who is in his 60s, was ordained in St. Mary’s Church in Inverness, Scotland, March 2 by Bishop Peter Moran of Aberdeen. Father Bell is a former priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. “He brings a wide and rich experience to his new role, and I am delighted to welcome him to the priesthood,” said Bishop Moran in his homily. Father Bell has worked as an Anglican pastor in London and Peterborough, England, and in Easter Ross and Sutherland, Scotland. He will work at St. Mary’s until he is assigned to his own parish.

Here’s something you may find interesting from the Catholic News Service:I can say that what the TAC wants is not a sui juris-style Church but integration into the Roman Catholic Church with the right to retain a married episcopate and married priests since the Church is based on the family and not on celibate clergy.
