So… you are not happy with today’s morals, but you are not happy with the Church’s moral restrictions?
To be honest, the 1950s were in some aspects better than today. Porn was not easily available, there was a certain similarity between what we were taught at home and what we learned elsewhere, and there was less to be pressured about: it was easier to keep up with the Joneses than it is to keep up with the Kardashians.
It was also a time when abuse of any sort was not addressed, when black people were still very discriminated against, and when all sorts of problems were swept under the rug. And people smoked everywhere.
I think the 1950s seem good looking back because on the surface there was a lot of stability, not much change. Now it just seems like upheaval after upheaval.
The thing is, tho, that God has placed us in this time for a reason. Today’s problems are the crosses which will help us to grow in holiness. And we are the best people to help with that.
