Let me see now, (“but not many others, and certainly not in a serious dialog…”)!. Seems Al Frankin did just about the same as Ann but from the other side of the aisle and he even called himself a comedian (although I strongly disagree on that) and look at him. His comedy act not only got away with the name calling but he took it on the road and stole a seat in the Senate.

Coulter was simply stating things in her usual style “Caustic Hyperbole”.

The last paragraph was a quote from someone elses work to illustrate that America was changing to a point were it was nolonger America.

There are dire warnings to the possiblity that the new Majority will not be so Charitable to the new Minority. I can see her point after a fashion IFF our country continues to embrace secularism as it races toward Gamora.

I see nothing inwhich she “convicts herself”. I see more of a “conviction” in the reader of her words as she usually intends. She is tricky that way. 😉

Do I always agree with Coulter … no. Do I find her reprehensible… no. I do find her entertaining. I don’t use her views to form my own. I also love to watch people get spun up about her. My schadenfreude … darn I need to go to confession now. 😃

Hence my comment about a Secular Slide toward Gamora. All nations that do not practice what Christ actually teaches on a Macro level are doomed to an abuse of power. Some would even say a dash toward Stateism. Where the “select few” in power control the rest to the point of a type of enslavement.

Again understood. But I do enjoy watching the extreem reactions she provokes on both sides. 😉

The difference is that the Republcians put their loud mouth fools on TV0-the democrats put them in the Senate.

This is a poor excuse. The problem isn’t with her hyperbole. It’s with the core of her argument–insofar as there is an argument hidden underneath the irrational jeering.

She’s talking about Third World immigrants, particularly Mexicans. Not particularly known for their secularism, are they?

I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean. As far as I can see the only tricks she plays are on her admirers, whom she tricks into thinking that because she engages in “caustic hyperbole” they can trust blindly that there’s a valid point hidden in there somewhere.

The article is plainly irrational. The immigration quota system wasn’t a laissez-faire system at all. Laissez-faire doesn’t mean that you manipulate the system in order to maintain the status quo. A laissez-faire system would allow anyone at all to immigrate no matter where they come from. Even the current system doesn’t come close to doing that. Huge numbers of immigrants come from the Third World because more people from the Third World *want *to come to America. Contrary to what Coulter and her ilk like to think, people in Western Europe like it there these days (socialized medicine and all) and aren’t breaking down the doors to get in.

are your posts always perfectly rational?? It’s the same thing with you as w/ Coulter: she thinks what she is writing makes perfect sense. And it does… to me and others…

you’re the one calling people names. Did i ever call you irrational?? To me, that is just a way to slander someone so that others (here) won’t like her… kinda cheap, don’t you think?

If you don’t find Coulter rational… maybe there is some other reason for that… other than that Coulter is an irrational person…

maybe your hatred has blinded you… Who knows… but just because you call someone irrational doesn’t mean… Well, in my mind it means nothing… except that you like to engage in name-calling

The reason I find her so offensive is that she spews all that vileness - from her bully pulpit - at the same time saying as loudly she is Christian…

What she represents is not that of a Christian.

Once again, distracted fails to address my comment about Ann Coulter professing Christianity while spewing vile attacks - and instead tries to insult me and anyone else who also finds Coulter offensive.
