Are those even made any more? I remember when they first came out, how expensive and weird they were, and they always, and I do mean ALWAYS sprang leaksā¦You couldnāt have them in apartments and insurance companies wouldnāt cover any damage if they did burst. But I have thought about it because I could turn down the heater and have a really COLD bedā¦Anyone have a waterbed?
My in-laws do, and have been water bed afficionados since the 70s.Anyone have a waterbed?
Papa-in-law took a disability retirement because of his back, and he wonāt sleep on anything but a water bed. They were traveling right before Christmas, and he came home in pretty bad pain after a week on traditional mattresses. They do make them. There is a store near me that sells them. My BIL has one and loves, loves, loves it. He is in his 40s and has had one since he was in his teens. My son wants one. I have been thinking about one for a while for my sore back.
We got a baffled waterbed in the late 70ās and loved it. After many years use we then got a sleep number bed and hated it. Now I am back with the waterbed and will never have anything else. It uses regular sheets and sits inside the bed frame of a 4 poster bed. I highly recommend. My husband had a bad back and found that the water bed worked best for him. They do make them. Baffled water bed - thatās what theyāre called. I couldnāt for the life of me remember what my in-laws had called theirs. Thank you! :tiphat:We got a baffled waterbed in the late 70ās and loved it. TemperpedicOkay, people, letās keep it clean. Iād like to talk about beds. More specifically, my husband and I want to buy a new mattress and box springs. Any advice?
Or the fake versions. We have one āDormix I think itās calledTemperpedic![]()
We got our pillow top (both sides) in December of '08 (maybe '09 - not sure, now that I think about it - but itās been a few years). It is still wonderful. We can start to tell if weāve gone too long without flipping and/or turning it. Once we do, itās like a new mattress all over.op hereā
Thanks everyone!Reading all your comments is very helpful. Itās interesting to see the wide range of peopleās opinions on this subject. Iād love to comment on many of the individual posts, but right now I want to pick your brains about your experiences.
Weāve narrowed it down to either a traditional two sided mattress with pillow top OR a sleep number/air mattress. Thoughts?
I like especially like to read what these beds are like after a few years. We want to make sure our comfortable new mattress will stay comfortable.
Doesnāt the side on the bottom get flattened? We got our pillow top (both sides) in December of '08 (maybe '09 - not sure, now that I think about it - but itās been a few years).
