Amen. Peter said, “…where shall we go? You have the words of eternal life…”True. To be united “fully” to Christ, you must partake of His Body literally and believe in His words when He said that one could not come to HIm without partaking of His holy body and blood.
The “words” Peter is refering to are the words that Jesus just said in John 6, not every single word Jesus spoke as found in the New Testament. That’s pretzel theology at its worst.
It’s ONE BREAD that we partake of, not separate from the Bread that Jesus held in His sacred hands. I made a subtle allusion to the Temptation. Satan tempted Jesus when he was hungry, telling him He could turn stones into bread. Jesus is the Bread come down from heaven. Jesus replied, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4) Every word that Jesus ever spoke does not give us eternal life, it means every eternal life giving word, the bread that is not alone.
"Take This, and eat It, this IS my Body…"
Jesus quotes Deuteronomy to Satan.
1 All the commandments, that I command thee this day, take great care to observe: that you may live, and be multiplied, and going in may possess the land, for which the Lord swore to your fathers. 2 And thou shalt remember all the way through which the Lord thy God hath brought thee for forty years through the desert, to afflict thee and to prove thee, and that the things that were in thy heart might be made known, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments or no. 3 He afflicted thee with want,** and gave thee manna for thy food**, which neither thou nor thy fathers knew: to shew that not in bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
