And someone in the Liturgy forum complained about petitions at Mass for more devotion to Mary?? The horrendous blasphemes against Her and Her Son call down God’s judgement on our earth. Lord Have Mercy!

And yet Our Lady continues to come in ********** to plead with us to come back to Him through prayer, penance, fasting, monthly Confession, the holy Mass! Such a tender loving mother so offended by ungrateful and hateful human beings!

How sad. It’s such obvious bigotry.

I think that Catholics in this country need to get behind the Catholic League and start insisting that this country be tolerant to US – AntiCatholicism truly is the last acceptable bias.

What a sad website- With a doubt anti-catholic, but it’s hard to tell what their beliefs are. They are to busy ‘slamming’ others to state their beliefs. I was finding they were even attacking many Protestant demominations too. The people of that website really need to learn what Charity is. 😦

I looked at 3 pictures defaming our Holy Father and shut the window. I don’t need to spend any more energy looking at garbage.

One of the links they have is a ministry that I know-- Berean Beacon. The Beacon has an interesting book of 50 Priests who left Catholicism for the Biblical Gospel, and they give their story. Very insightful, to see how the Catholic church has been corrupted…

By the way, here’s some info on that book:

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil aginst you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.

Do you expect nescient individuals that left the Church…to speak positively of Catholicism? The truth is…they weren’t true knowledgeable Catholics…or else, they would have known more about their faith.

Second, it’s impossible for a “Catholic to leave Catholicism for the Biblical Gospel”…the Catholic Church is the Mother of the Bible…not the Daughter.

A good read…

Finally…

Apostolic Fathers:

Irenaeus (Note: Irenaeus was taught by Polycarp
…who had himself been a disciple of St. John the Evangelist):

"The blessed apostles [Peter and Paul], having founded and built up the church [of Rome] . . . handed over the office of the episcopate to Linus"
(Against Heresies 3:3:3 A.D. 189]).

Ignatius of Antioch:
"Ignatius . . . to the church also which holds the presidency, in the location of the country of the Romans, worthy of God, worthy of honor, worthy of blessing, worthy of praise, worthy of success, worthy of sanctification, and, because you hold the presidency in love, named after Christ and named after the Father" (Letter to the Romans 1:1 A.D. 110]).

You [the church at Rome] have envied no one, but others you have taught. I desire only that what you have enjoined in your instructions may remain in force” (ibid., 3:1).

The Little Labyrinth:
"Victor . . . was the thirteenth bishop of Rome from Peter"
(The Little Labyrinth A.D. 211], in Eusebius, Church History 5:28:3).

Eusebius of Caesarea:
"Paul testifies that Crescens was sent to Gaul [2 Tim. 4:10], but Linus, whom he mentions in the Second Epistle to Timothy [2 Tim. 4:21] as his companion at Rome, was Peter’s successor in the episcopate of the church there, as has already been shown. Clement also, who was appointed third bishop of the church at Rome, was, as Paul testifies, his co-laborer and fellow-soldier [Phil. 4:3]" (Church History 3:4:9–10 A.D. 312]).

Optatus:
"You cannot deny that you are aware that in the city of Rome the episcopal chair was given first to Peter; the chair in which Peter sat, the same who was head—that is why he is also called Cephas ‘Rock’]—of all the apostles; the one chair in which unity is maintained by all"
(The Schism of the Donatists 2:2 A.D. 367]).

Cyprian of Carthage:
"The Lord says to Peter: ‘I say to you,’ he says, ‘that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.’ . . . On him [Peter] he builds the Church
, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep [John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed, the others were that also which Peter was , but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair. So too, all [the apostles] are shepherds, and the flock is shown to be one, fed by all the apostles in single-minded accord. If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he imagine that he still holds the faith? If he [should] desert the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the Church?" (The Unity of the Catholic Church 4; 1st edition A.D. 251]).

He didn’t leave Catholicism, then find the gospel; he left Catholicism because he found the gospel… just like I did. When I was a Catholic, I had to study the Bible more so I could dispute the Protestants, but the more I learned, the more I saw that Catholicism was in contradiction with Biblical teaching… such nonsense such as missing mass is a mortal sin (loss of salvation), and the other man-made rules that are made up and passed off as “from God.”

Bernie,

Keep studying! You will eventually discover the inadequacies of Protestantism, and the circular logic of Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide.

Private interpretation of scripture has splintered the christian churches more than any other influence.

I will pray for your return to the Catholic Church.

Ok, then, I suggest you talk to Scott Hahn, Tim Staples, Marcus Grodi, and just about everyone he has on his show (The Journey Home, EWTN, 8:00 p.m. eastern time, every Monday), all of whom, upon seriously investigating Scripture, LEFT PROTESTANTISM AND BECAME CATHOLIC!! I guess you’re just way smarter than all of them, and they don’t know what the Bible actually means.

I was the same

I felt sick with those talker baloons coming out of the picture of the Pope.

I hit the little “x” up the top, and prayed that Our Lord will help them see the Truth.

I was studying the Bible too and I was considering Protestantism. I am still Catholic, but I understand you, because Satan attacked me the same like he attacked you (but he failed in my case Thank you Jesus!). This was something like that:

Satan: Do you have to go to church every day?

*Did God really tell you not to eat from any of the trees in the garden? (Gen 3,1) *

Me: No. We have to go to the Mass on Sunday. Not going to Mass on Sunday is a mortal sin.

We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ (Gen 3,2-3)

Satan: Do you believe is such nonsense such as missing mass is a mortal sin (loss of salvation). Of course it is ridicules.

You will not surely die (Gen 3,4)

Satan:You can read the Bible and decide yourself what you need to do to be saved.
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil (Gen 5,4)

If you read the Bible you know rest of the story. There are thousands of protestant churches, every teaching differently. You can read many theologians (much more holier and educated than me) who can “prove” from the Bible that you cannot lose your salvation and many theologians (much more holier and educated than me) who can “prove” from the Bible that you can lose your salvation. The only thing Protestants agree is that Catholics are wrong. So when Protestants finds out that their theology is naked (Gen 3.7).

If you believe that you cannot loose your salvation whatever you do, what do you think about all Christians killed in first centuries by roman emperors. They already were saved so what difference it was to incense an altar of emperor? They had families, wives, children. They knew they are saved (is was first centuries before Catholic Church corrupted everything), did not they?.

And because is started form a web-page do you really believe that we Catholics keep mummified Mother Teresa and that popes takes $1,000,000 for baptism? I think that this web-page is just evil. As you can see in Luke 4 devil can quote the Bible in a pretty clever way (so can this page).

Bernie- how dare you refer to our beliefs as :nonsense.

Bernie, what specificially about Catholicism do you think is in contradiction with Biblical teaching?

Which 'man-made rules are made up and passed offf as “from God”? ’ Can you provide the name and quotes from Church documents which say that man made rules are from God?
A Catholic would understand a man made rule as one which can change e.g. abstinence from meat on Friday, celibacy of the clergy, the period of fast before Holy Communion.

Christ, who founded the Catholic Church, gave the apostles under the leadership of Peter the power to bind and loose i.e. the power to decide what was permitted and prohibited, the power to make laws. The third commandment tells us ‘Thou shalt keep holy the Sabbath Day’. The Church decided that the way Catholics were to keep holy this day was to attend Holy Mass and yes it is a serious sin not to worship God as He commanded. The Catechism of the Catholic Church nos 2168 - 2195 speaks about Holy Mass; you may wish to read it to get some background knowledge.

Indeed, with that many Prot. denominations (literally thousands) out there and as many doctrinal conflicts and contradictions, it is indeed the fact that they are “non-Catholic”, “protesters” like the name implies, that is the commonity between them. Ironic isn’t it? The very Church that they are protesting against is what unite them…
