Indeed. I was responding to stevie, since I don’t want this thread to stand in place of that book, which is a good counter to some of the less-over-the-top statements here.
I’m glad that you made that statement about the book, “The Seven Biggest Lies…” for I am certain that it is a very good book. Sorry, but I was just having a little fun, and I guess someone else on another forum was too for he/she wrote about “Jesuit militants” saving him/her from the Freemasons. So, undoubtedly, some of us think alike.

You are correct in throwing perspective into this.

While this isn’t particularly anti-Catholic. A pair of men walked into the electronics store beside my store, one wielding a 3 ft tall cross, both decrying electronics as the work of the Devil.

It does make one think of Scripture and what it has to say about the end times: that knowledge (electronics, technology, computers, rockets, chemistry, etc.) would increase and that people would travel to and fro (jetting about). Hmmm. Maybe simpler times would be better times…bartering, small farms, and small businesses prospering again, walking here and there, actually having real conversations with people, more time for prayer, going to church…gives one thought!

Civilization ebbs and flows, but the Church remains constant because God is constant. No matter our level of technology, we would have time for God, and we would have excuses to ignore Him… 🤷

I just ran across one in the “Quick Questions” section of catholic.com:

“My non-Catholic friend says the Church omitted this verse [Acts 8:37, “If thou believes with all thine heart, thou mayest,”] in an effort to cover up the truth that baptism is not necessary for salvation.”

See, it’s not Luther who cut things out of the Bible. No… it’s the Catholic Church… uh-huh… :banghead:
I have a Protestant and Catholic Bible and just looked up Acts 8:37 in both. The Protestant version merely has the verse, asterisked, with a footnote stating that some versions leave the verse out. The Catholic Bible brackets like so: [37]* with a footnote thus, **8, 37: **"The oldest and best manuscripts of Acts omit this verse, which is a Western text reading: “And Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he said in reply, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’”

So it IS there in the Catholic Bible I have at least.

Catholics aren’t suppose to use birth control so that they can slowly take over the world through massive birth rates

Here’s a fairly common one: “Catholics don’t read or know their Bible.” Me, I find that I know it at least as well as, and often better than the n-Cs I encounter. Often to their amazement and chagrin. 😃

I recently read “The Rite” and after a few other books am now reading “An Exorcist Tells His Story”

While being observed I was told that the devil only bothered Catholics and that protestants were immune.

That’s actually an insult to Protestants because, as the theory goes, the devil doesn’t bother with those who are already lost.

That’s very true. He attacks those people who are a threat to his plan to defeat God, so, if he doesn’t bother Protestants, it means they pose no threat to his anti-God agenda…

Promised someone I would listen to the “testimony” of Sister Charlotte. Wow. And people actually believed her. That’s what’s truly infuriating.

Here’s a real whopper.
I always say that Catholics all believe a “Catholicism” all of their own making.
Many devout Catholics even maintain Protestant positions just to stay sane…though maintaining their loyalty to their denomination to give them identity and purpose.
I was listening to EWTN Catholic radio yesterday and the priest host said, in effect, that WHEN he gets to Heaven, he is going to do such and such.
I hear this from devout Catholics all the time.
They say: “WHEN I get to Heaven…”
That is not Catholic teaching.
Catholic teaching is “IF I get to Heaven…”
Even devout Catholics understand how faithless and sadly hopeless always saying and thinking “IF I get to Heaven…” sounds.
This is why they always adopt the Protestant faith of “WHEN I get to Heaven…”
Catholics love being Protestants…but unfortunately lack the courage to follow their stated convictions.
Living a lie is very important in the RC psyche.
and then there is…
Hyperbole is a legitimate propaganda technique. It is also a fancy word for “lie”.
Code:
**Is that why Jesus and so many Roman Catholics employ such a rhetorical device or figure of speech?** http://forums.carm.org/vbb/images/smilies/rolleyes.png
That is a big problem with Catholic apologists: so often they simply refuse to think.

Now that you have condemned God Himself and so many Roman Catholics as liars, what will be your next foolish action?

And they went on to say…
We must remember that Catholic apologists have great shame and embarrassment over their own religion.
They will deny their own faith whenever convenient. They have no conviction and no backbone beyond what would give their denom the prettiest face…
Look at the lies this guy tells about us. And the people he posted that to believed him hook, line, and sinker. Yet this is some of the current propaganda that some a-Cs pass off as discussion and “fact” about our most holy faith.

Is that your excuse?

I have heard worse mockery of God.

I would not post it, however.

…
Look, the OP question was
… I wanted to know what are some of the best Anti-Catholic whoppers you have heard. And by best I mean the most ridiculous.
Do you disagree that it is anti-Catholic? Do you disagree that it is a whopper? Well, I heard it, think it is anti-Catholic, a whopper, and ridiculous, so it fits the topic. Whoever originated these whoppers intended that they be offensive, and the best way to deal with them IMHO is to laugh them off.
