Try reading the forums rules for once. I don’t see anti-Mexican feeling; I think there is genuine concern for security. Really, I do not know where this came from. I also would like to see an improvement in immigration laws so that those who wish to come here may come, subject to necessary, but not ridiculous or too-burdensome restrictions. It is 9:14 pm here in San Antonio, TX. Good-night.I was posting at another forum for awhile, but quit yesterday because I noticed again and again that alot of the anti-immigration talk was really hatred for Mexicans. The post that finally got to me said that the solution was to shoot them and pile up their corpses.
Now I’d like to see some better enforcement of immigration laws. I think that the children of illegals born in the U.S. should NOT be given U.S. citizenship unless one of the parents is a citizen. I think our social welfare system encourages not only foreigners to take advantage of it, but also discourages our own poor people from seeking the employment that supposedly we need foreigners for. I also think that we should really come down on employers.
But I think alot of people despise Mexicans in this country. I think they hate them. I think people say other reasons for not wanting Spanish spoken, or immigration, but basically they just can’t stand Mexicans.

It really does exist here on these threads. It based on the targeting of the Hispanics as some sort of “security” threat when NOT ONE had anything to do with 9/11 and all 9/11 terrorists entered through “legal” means. It comes from the arbitrary laws that target them by setting quotas that are too low to meet our labor needs. It comes by not recognizing the benefits that have accrued by the taxes paid, jobs created, new tax revenues generated and the economic as well as population growth generated by the “illegal” immigrant. It comes from people denying their anti-immigrant inclinations. It comes from the fact that we are willing to waste valuable resources on a 700 mile fence which will magically makes us safe and secure even though our border with Mexico is nearly two thousand miles long. It comes from not wanting to allow those already here who would have qualified under our terms had we not closed the “legal” option to them. It comes from blaming them for all that ails us. And, it comes from this wave of immigrants to be the only wave to be branded as “illegals”. When we talk about “illegals” everybody knows who we are talking about. Man, you just twisted the heck out of just about every topic you covered in that post.It really does exist here on these threads. This thread has degenerated to the point where keeping it open is only going to result in disciplinary action against several members, so in the interest of charity, it is now closed.
To all who participated here, please read on and take this message to heart.
There has been too much name calling, both explixit and implicit, one being as bad as the other.
There are too many instances of professing to know what is in others’ hearts.
There are numerous instances of twisting what someone said into something neither said nor implied in the original post, then attacking the original poster for it.
There have been personal attacks and complaints filed about them from both sides of the fence.
If this conduct carries over to the other threads, there will be no warnings or infractions points issued - only suspensions. I would prefer that you guys moderate yourselves but you have shown no indication that you can or will do so and it has now come to this. I will be as tough about this as I have to be until you folks demonstrate that you can conduct a civil debate.
