That is right, there is debate online about how liberals are treating this, a writer at Huffington Post deleted a tweet over this incident. I read an article at, I believe Mediaite about this.
 
It was just a comment, and observation. Are posters being censored now by others? So much for Freedom of Speech! And as pointed out comments justifying Antifas behavior have been discussed on this thread as well.

I don’t know much about Proud Boys, what political policies are they advocating for, besides free speech? What is your objection?

They’re outwardly right-wing. Beating up a member of Antifa is a requirement for admittance. They’re just generally a weird sort of macho neo-fascist cult. Another one of their admittance tests is being beaten up by other members and having to name cereal brands as it happens. They were founded by Gavin McInnes, an openly right-wing pundit.

You don’t have any logic here, beating someone up for admission has ZERO, ZILCH to do with being right wing. This is a common gang requirement FYI. But I agree with you it’s an abhorrent initiation requirement.

So outside of their penchant for physical assault, you have no idea what they claim to stand for? I’m talking politics. You can’t just throw the words ‘right wing’ repeatedly and pretend that makes it true.

Then Google him, or watch some of his videos. The guy gets angry when movies cast black people in prominent roles. He was a pundit for “Rebel Media”, a group often referred to as the Canadian Brietbart, and one of his gags for them was dressing as an effeminate leftist, complete in Che Guevara t-shirt, and parodying what he thought a left-wing person was like.

As for the Proud Boys, they often style themselves as defenders of the West/Western culture against SJWs. It isn’t just about free speech for them. Their whole thing is that they view “western culture” as being under siege, a common fascist talking point.

EDIT: McGinnes and the Proud Boys also reinacted the murder of Inejiro Asanuma, a Japanese socialist, in order to celebrate the murder.

It may be a common fascist talking point (not that fascism represents western culture in any way), but that doesn’t make it untrue.
 
I didn’t know any of those other folks back in 1953, but I discovered I was a Western civilization chauvinist around 1960.

However, if we did create the modern world, I gotta take a step back.

Why would people who are just a drinking club be involved in a street brawl with Antifa in the first place? And how do you explain all of their shtick about protecting Western civilization and stuff? Or their weird stunt where they celebrated the murder of that Japanese communist by an ultranationalist? Or the fact that they were founded by a man who is extremely involved in right-wing politics, and whose whole career is being a right-wing political pundit?
