Any Black Lives Matter Catholics here?

Back when he was working, the police would have a community day where the community and the police would get together and know each other as people.

This goes a long way towards the regrettable tendency for both sides to view each other as “other”. The community feels a sense of hostility towards police as petty tyrants while the police view all members of the public as potential criminals.
I don’t think I can agree with this conclusion. There might not be any community day here, but most people are very well-disposed toward the police and vice versa. There are three cops in my K of C chapter, and they are viewed as brothers as much as anyone else.

Your experience is by no means universal. If that were the case, George Floyd would still be alive.

I am just talking about the community my uncle lived in.

This community may not be typical of other communities but it is hardly unique.

So discussions on terrorism seem to be quite common under the topic of black lives mattering.

To my question: Are there any BLM Catholics here? I see the responses and hostility. I’m sorry and acknowledge this question may have been harmful. #BLM 🙏

I don’t think it’s racist to point out that we have different experiences in society and some of these differences are based on our races.
Truth is objective. It’s not bound by race. It was an inappropriate question.

Please don’t summarize the views here in those words. No one here has said black lives don’t matter and you know it.

Yes, I can see by your posts how much you value Black lives. I mean, you didn’t explicitly say they don’t matter, right? Perhaps you can show your support, specifically for Black Catholics here…:

Subjecting me to a purity test, huh? Not gonna bite. Conclude what you will.

Obviously not purity. Just an honest question: What would you say is the best thing Black folks bring to the Catholic Church?
Lol. Dude I look at individuals when it comes to what people ‘bring’ to the Church. Usually I find ostentatious folk of any kind a bit grating. I prefer the silent people who aren’t trying to be the pastor’s pet. But we’ve gotten off topic.

Off topic? I started this thread. I see you’re nowhere near capable of answering such a direct question (that’s a challenge to answer if you’re not seeing it).

I’ll answer for you. You don’t see Catholics of Color, correct? (That’s two direct questions now)

If you want this thread to be about what I like in people at the parish I go to, I’m game for that.

On the terrorist subject I don’t think BLM qualifies. I also don’t think BDS qualified but that wasn’t a popular thing to defend amongst liberals as I remember. Could be mistaken. I remember leftists defending it.

What? I asked you direct questions multiple times about Black Catholics. I’ll stop (I’m getting auto-warnings about repetition lol)

It might be because you hit reply twice. It will warn you about posts being too similar if you do that.

I’m not answering your questions because I refuse to be subjected to a purity test. By the left or the right, or anyone in between.

Of the white commenters here (ie 99%), is there anyone who could point me to BLM supportive Catholic orgs?

I really do appreciate thoughtful replies. But I’m disappointed in the overall response (Ie terrorism!). I’d like to connect with BLM (or generally Black) Catholic orgs…if they’re out there?

(Perhaps a new thread is warranted for such a request?)

A third thread? You already have one closed for repetition.
There are black Catholics on these boards but not everyone here looks at every thread. Many members ignore news threads because they get heated. You already got a few responses. And even if they’ve seen it, why do they need to answer your request?
Maybe this is why they don’t bother:

Are there any BLM Catholics here?
You already have a few who have expressed their sympathy for BLM. Do they not count? In fact:
I’m here.
