It’s why I prefer the term “convert” but some people say “revert” because Islam is the natural religion God revealed for mankind. So someone who embraces Islam returns to the pure state and inclination to believe in God alone without partners. In other words, reverts.
Yes, and claims that Adam build the Ka’bah, Noah rebuild it, Abraham sacrificed his son (Isaac in the earlier Muslim sources but not changed to Ishmael) there, etc.

Built. with a “t” at the end.

The earliest “Muslim source” is the Qur’an. Please refer to it and see what it says. It’s the one that has been preserved without errors.

**yikesabee~! don’t know what happened…ohhh I know why it posted more than once, my computer really slowed down and I pushed refresh at least that many times and it said resend each time duh lol…sorry guys!
Yes, it says God created man weak
.

yes, weak, but not in sin.
Only partially true: God created man in His image and likeness (a belief your hadith teach, although Islam can’t make much sense of it) like an architect builds his own house. Only the Fall necessitated Christ’s death and Resurrection.
but in the Bible it says you have neither seen him nor heard his voice so how can you determine if it is in God’s image or not? and Islam does in NO WAY TEACH THIS~something you do not understand. Only the fall??? so the verse in John 3:16 that they brain us with all our lives “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believeth in him shall not parish but have everlasting life” is worth what to your explanation?
Christ suffered for us, not instead of us. But to be fair, many Christians err on this.
how can a god suffer? in a human sense of the trinity, that means 1/3 of God suffered and that is unrealistic to say that God suffers is it not?? He is is not in want of anything. He is the Most Compassionate yes, but to attribute a quality of suffering is judging Allah in all His Wisdom and Uniqueness.

Yes, sis Amy, convert is a correct terminology used in a sense of changing 🙂 revert is a deep sense of meanin and to explain it is challenging in itself lol…both are proper to use 😃 barakAllahu feeki

I heard claim that it was the OT.
Is that a joke?
Sorry, I did grad work on the fomration of this myth. For one thing, there are grammatical errors in it.

Nope, sorry. Not impressed.

Grammatical errors is just about as lame an argument as one can make.

But you’ve decided to start attacking Islam. Weren’t you complaining before about how Muslim “apologists” attack Christianity?

Rise above! 👍

Sorry, but seeing it three times, I fell into temptation. I apologize.
yes, weak, but not in sin.
The term has at its basis the story in the Quran of God rubbing Adam’s spine and asking all his progeny “Am I not your Lord?” so they would be without excuse on Judgment Day.

Is that a joke?
Yes, but I didn’t tell it.

The University of Chicago was. I go an A.

I could go into the historical errors, theological errors etc, but that would require outside sources, which would a pandora’s box of haggling, etc. For linguistic erros, you only need to know Arabic.
But you’ve decided to start attacking Islam. Weren’t you complaining before about how Muslim “apologists” attack Christianity?
Pure gold fears no fire.

The problem is that instead of answering a question, they attack Chrisitanity. I wouldn’t mind, if they at least answered the question.

I merely ask them to remove the log from their eye first.
Rise above! 👍

Sister Amy, can you take any criticism of Islam without playing the persecution card? It obfuscates the issue.

I also don’t think “The Qu’ran said it is so” is a valid argument in any argument regarding textual criticism.

Yes, but I didn’t tell it.
You brought it up…

Might wanna check their refund policy.

I am obviously not in a position to carry on that sort of argument with you. So it’s better for us if you don’t even start. But these “grammatical errors” came up in my Arabic grammar class. It’s always that the Western scholar or what have you will say that there is some grammatical mistake. And then the Arabic professor says “laa” it’s just some special form, a rare rule in the Arabic language, extra emphasis, supreme eloquence that the Western critic never studied before.

I love my Arabic teachers. May Allah protect them.
Pure gold fears no fire.
So why would you complain about “apologists?”

But you attack Islam, so tell me how are you different?
I merely ask them to remove the log from their eye first.
Hmm… look and see whose eye carries the log. 😃

I haven’t posted for a while so maybe you’re not familiar with me or my posts.

And I really don’t know what you’re talking about. Is this thread about textual criticism?

It would explain grammatical errors, wouldn’t it? Or am I “attacking Islam” now, too?

A silly question. Was the Qu’ran written before the invention of the printing press?
Please try to find the meaning of the Arabic word “huffaadh” or in singular form “haafidh.” You might also see it rendered “huffaz” or “hafiz” or something like that. 🙂

Even better answer!

What does the printing press have to do with textual criticism or grammatical errors?

Have you never seen a typo? 😃

okay you two. let’s all get along! LOL

i would just like to say that i think arabic writing or script is beautiful!

You brought it up…
You guys are the ones claiming to be reverts.
Might wanna check their refund policy.
Was on full scholarship, so nothing to refund.

The linguistic errors are spoken about in the hadith corpus. Aisha blamed the Ansar.

Not complaining, just pointing out.
But you attack Islam, so tell me how are you different?
Comparing something they are familiar with (or should be) to elucidate the point.
Hmm… look and see whose eye carries the log. 😃
Yes, indeed.
