Please try to find the meaning of the Arabic word “huffaadh” or in singular form “haafidh.” You might also see it rendered “huffaz” or “hafiz” or something like that. 🙂

OK, OK! I am the OP and if you guys want to carry out this banter, start another thread. I was simply asking for any Muslims who wanted to have an intellectual conversation to contact me, and I do have someone who is answering my questions. If any other person wants to PM me, fine, but the posters took my thread way off course and I ask that it stop.

**Hello and assalaamu’alaykum sis amy 😃

hmmm yikes lol

don’t know where to start lol…but that list oh man! Did you know that the recitations of the Quran, that there are 7 ways (methods of pronouncing) of reciting it??? These do not mean any grammatical error what so ever…sheesh.

Wa alaikum as-salaam wa rahmatullaah

I’m not sure what was meant to be proven by the list so I kinda ignored it.

I might consider listening to someone telling me the Qur’an has “grammatical errors,” when he’s memorized it. Memorization is the lowest level of knowledge, and if someone is claiming the Qur’an has grammatical errors but hasn’t even done that, then I can find plenty of people with more knowledge than him.

In of itself no. The recitations are just to show this ifrs of a single, preserved text of the Quran is a myth. With a recitation is where the errors lie.

I’ve met such Hafizs (or do you say HuffaZ?). They ask me what they are reciting, because like a parrot, they don’t know.

I say HuffaaDH actually because I study tajweed. And this letter is pronounced not like a Zee or Zay but is pronounced by putting the second part of your tongue between the front teeth and vibrating it.

Moreover, a hafidh isn’t one who understands the whole Qur’an. It means someone who does what? Preserves it. Thus, he is called a hafidh. 😛
