I am worried about debt, but I will have to try my best to pay it off, my parents will help me and maybe I’ll receive a scholarship. Most convents /monasteries won’t accept you to their order if you have debt.

yes, they are against it but they know it will happen one way or another.

Hey, have you read “The Story of a Soul”? I identify with her plight the most. Where I am facing a lot of struggles and tests but I’m certain that my vocation is genuine even in the face of doubt. I think you would also resonate with it.

:hugs: I went to light a candle yesterday to pray and I saw more candles for St. Therese then anyone else! 😆 She really was an amazing character!

Thanks for the response! I seem to struggle with how I approach my heart to heart with our Lord, like I get anxious saying anything selfish or in what sounds like demands. Sometimes its fine, but I just always get that feeling that I dont want to say anything stupid in front of our Lord.

Thank you for the advice. I’ve been trying to find someone to talk to about my vocation. I’m Catholic, but go to a Christian reformed college. (the school has an excellent nursing program and is a small size, that’s why i decided to go there). Also, i do not have a car with me, so I have to end up watching Mass online Sunday mornings (so it would be a bit difficult to find someone like a vocation director at a church to talk to.)

I’m not surprised. I knew nothing about St. Therese until I read “The Story of a Soul” she seemed really popular and I had to know why.

If you dont mind me asking, but theres no charter bus that takes you to the downtown of said area? Are there any Catholic Churches around?

There are Catholic churches around, but my parents don’t want me to take a bus or anything by myself. My school said that 20% of our population is Catholic, but I haven’t really met anyone that i could go to church with

I dont have a say in your life, but if you are over 18 and in college I dont know whats the problem of telling them your fine riding the bus by yourself. If safety learn karate or get a taser like my aunt :3

But in all seriousness, you do you. Maybe if you can find another practicing Catholic at the campus, you can ask them to ride with you on the bus to mass 🙂 just my two cents. I used to ride the charter to sunday mass when i was at my uni, but i dropped after first semester so I cant say much xD

Makes me realize how lucky I am to have so many different people offer to drive me to mass.

That is amazing. Hopefully next year I will be able to go to Mass. For now, I am just sticking with my youth-group, that happens to be Catholic. At least my parents are letting me go, even if they are letting me go just to get me shut my mouth up at home.

What exactly is our age group? I may be the youngest here. So hopefully I’m not excluded.
