Anyone had any prayers granted (*)

Well here’s the thing. You have had other threads and said you have been praying for nine months and come here and asked what we think. So far, God has not answered your prayer, has he? As I said before, sometimes the answer is no. Now you say you had a dream and he said no. But you still won’t accept it.

Perhaps what you are asking will not happen now. Or next week or year. Maybe it won’t happen for 20 years. So what are you going to to do? Are you going to get mad at God because he didn’t grant your desire? Are you going to lose faith because he didn’t grant your desire? If you do these things, I would question your maturity and your faith.
That would take us back to the question I posted earlier: Where is the line drawn? If God gave me a hard no I would have to accept that, however if that statement is from God, what happens if I love according to His will ✝️?

That’s why I’m not ready to abandon this prayer just yet. Maybe that’s just me being stubborn, however there’s nothing more tragic than losing something because of your own inaction. Praying this incessantly is irritating, but if there’s even a 1% chance that this is grantable… If there’s hope, believe I’m going to fight for it.

With that said, I would hope you all would pray for the intention, and for the cultivation of love in our lives, since we can never have enough of it. ❤️

Same question here, nobody has answered yet. How is this determined? I also think that tellinf other people they lack faith isn’t a good way to go about things. Of course after some time one would feel frustrated when things do not improve despite efforts to do so. And just because a peraon is asking about God’s will does not mean he is losing faith. And id he is, so what? Maybe it is the dark night of the soul, or somethinf temporary. Has anyone here not experienced difficulties in their spiritual life?

Yes. Prayer is the vehicle through which God grants us favors. But be humble in your prayer. Say ‘grant me what you will, as much as you will, when you will.’ Then trust that whatever happens, it is God’s will.

Have you discussed this with a spiritual director?
I talked with my local priest about these issues a little while ago. They couldn’t definitively state whether my intention would be granted, but he told me that all prayers are heard by God, and to trust Him.

Maybe bring up your dream and your determination to continue petitioning for it anyway.

Maybe you don’t realize how this sounds to us. Are you actually questioning God as if you know better than he does? Because that is what this sounds like.
To be quite fair, I’m pretty sure half the book of Psalms sounds like that too.

I thought miracles were rarities and very uncommon. The people they happened to were remote to me and stories read about on CAF , in books, on documentaries.
I have just heard about an alleged Eucharistic miracle with someone I know and see on a regular basis. The alleged miracle is being investigated through proper channels and involves a ‘Blessed’. If it is God’s will, this will lead to the canonization of the ‘Blessed’
The alleged miracle was from a prayer granted.

It is also very common to pray for years for an outcome. The great example of this is a mother who prayed 17 years for her son to turn back to God. He became one of our greatest saints. She never gave up hope in God.

I feel like I don’t exist to God, and that I’m just a nebulous, interchangeable “pawn” ♟️ that serves little purpose other than to “bring the strong to shame” (1 Corinthians 1:27). We’ve seen this time and time again, however, and every time this same “life” repeats itself, the impact therein diminishes, since the very “strong” these bulks of people are sent to shame eventually get desensitized to it.
Maybe you’d benefit from talking with someone about these feelings? A therapist and/or a local member of your faith community? I’m not sure if you participate in a small group, but brothers and sisters in bible study can be wonderful to lean on, too…

Be at peace, I have prayed for many things which did not come to be. The Apostles also experienced this and many saints have also prayed for many things which were not granted.

And I think we can safely say they had enough faith for their petitions to be fulfilled, so lack of faith is not always the issue.

God will not always grants us everything we ask for. We must still trust in Him and remain confident that He knows what He is doing.

Good parents understand when to give and not to give something to their children after all.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I know how you feel. I keep praying for something and I never get it and have felt my faith slipping. I know it seems like God is not listening, but he is. God always answers our prayers, just sometimes not the way we expect him to. Pray to Our Lady, she always listens to you and brings your prayers to God. She is always someone to turn to for comfort. God bless you, feel free to message me if you want to talk about anything.

Those sentiments only apply to my relationship with God. I don’t feel insignificant myself, but sometimes it seems as though God views me that way, if that makes more sense.

I’m hoping that I can perhaps be an exception to these principles. I doubt many people in the Biblical stories knew that they would be chosen from the masses to be special cases. We’ve also had many other post-Biblical people (such as mystics, for instance) who were similarly blessed, despite the unlikelihood thereof.

I appreciate this. Whenever I try praying to Mary, most of the time I get the same result as when I try praying to Christ Himself (nothing). I did, however, receive that dream after saying a certain prayer to her, so that’s something, however, this hasn’t happened since. This whole experience has hardened my heart to an extent, which is unfortunate, but “another day, another chance”, as they say.

I prayed that you would get a clear answer to your prayer. And put it in the adoration intentions book for all to pray for. So hopefully God will make very clear to you now. If he wills.

How can you tell the difference between a prayer being granted and a coincidence?
You give God the glory because he’s in charge of coincidences.
Remember he hides himself in the Eucharist. He doesn’t blast a trumpet to get everyone’s attention and get the credit.

If it’s my birthday and a bouquet of flowers appears in a vase on the table, I give my husband a kiss and say thanks. Treat God like that who hears you and cares for you.

We are called to empty ourselves of our will and our ego. We are called to become vessels for the will of God.

Detachment from our own dreams and desires is a struggle that can be a life long one. I pray you find the path to this detachment.

Do not doubt! That is the devil’s trick.

Rather, the Lord is testing you and teaching you perseverence in prayer.

I prayed about a personal relationship , everything turned powerfully for the good !!

Not exactly an answered prayer, but along the same lines:
I bring my school lunches rather than buying from the cafeteria. I usually go to Mass during the first half of my lunch period at school. One day, I’d forgotten my lunch and had barely enough money with me to buy something small. Since I was very hungry that day, I debated with myself for a while wether or not to attend Mass but ultimately decided to go. When I walked in (there were about a dozen other students also inside) I saw a buffet-style lunch laid out on a table in the back of the chapel (which is used for meetings).
Just then the Campus Ministry teacher walked in and informed us that the priest was not there and there would be no Mass. As she left the room, she told us that the food was leftover from a faculty meeting and that we were free to take it. There was enough food for about twenty people to eat well, so we all took as much as we wanted and I got my lunch that day.
God provides!

*That were undeniably divine in nature (cured of untreatable illnesses, physical blessings, etc.)?

There’s something I’ve been praying about for nearly a year straight with no changes to the situation. I need encouragement because I can feel my faith and resolve slipping.
It is nice to hear of other peoples prayer successes but at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves do we believe in Christ and his promises or not? My favourite chapter of the bible has grown to be Matthew 7. If I was only allowed to have one chapter to live by it would be that. In verse 7 Jesus says:

7 “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

If ever I found myself doubting in prayer, I just say to myself do I believe Him or not and shrug my shoulders and live in that hope.
