Anyone who does not believe in Jesus Christ scares the heck out of me. I guess I will just say I would rather keep my distance from anyone who does not believe in Jesus. Sorry. Also I dont think Catholics are the only ones criticising Muslims on 911 I think the whole country did a pretty good job.

Oh! you’re forgiven… It also happened to me a couple of times! 😃

I know that! That’s why christians were divided into many denominations. The tone of your statement seems to suggest that you know the Koran. Why not try to evaluate the veracity of the posted verses of R_not and planten?
Oh! I certainly think R_not is sincere, but whenever somebody generalizes the way he does, I would believe him to be mistaken at least to some degree.
Also he quoted many verses, but separately from the context. Even when they are many, even then they should be examined in context.
The fact that Muslim communities had to stand up and say they absolutely disagree with the actions of Al-Qaeda terrorists in the first days after “9/11” is significant to me.
As for planten… I would it depends. When he uses Qor’an texts I would tend to believe him.
If he says something like we are wrong about the Holy Trinity, then, oh! I certainly don’t, although he indicates then that he is not grasping it, which we can’t, neither!!
(Even though I do believe in the Holy Trinity like the Church teaches us!)

Yes, R-not is sincere and she sees what you and many others refuse to see or don’t want to see. A day does not go by that we don’t hear of some new atrocity committed in the name of Islam and you continue to believe in the fairytale that Islam is a “religion of peace”!

Glad to see that R_not is a she… one can’t tell just from the words, it seems.
Some would argue that once upon a time, because of atrocities committed by Catholics who thought they were doing the will of God, Catholicism couldn’t be a religion of peace… and some would take verses from the Bible to justify them! What would you say to people who say such things ? (I heard this first from quarters quite others from the Muslims’!)

And please bear in mind that I am not pleased myself with such comments on our Catholic Church, but the people do judge from just things that appear to be…

Catholics and the Church are bombarded with insults by the wider society, and yet many of us are more interested in criticising Islam and its followers. Many of you are saying how illogical and unbelievable Islam is, yet have nothing to say in answer to the same charges being pressed against you by atheists.

The thing is, many of you seem to be claiming to be devout Catholics. Yeah right. I hope you guys don’t expect those oh so sarcastic atheists that post here to start believing in Catholicism after reading the trash that gets posted here.

Why don’t we unite against secularism? Or is that a stupid idea? We all worship the one God after all. The CCC says so. Or is the CC wrong about that?
Don’t lump us all together in the same group.

We’re just afraid of terrorists with red buttons connected to missle silos.

Even if R_not is a she, that doesn’t excuse what she does: calling ALL Muslims liars when there certainly are among them some who speak sincerely. You can bear false testimony even when you don’t lie! And it can happen to anyone of us, Booklover.
Now is all of Islam wrong? Are they wrong on everything? I would doubt it. I know they are wrong when they say Jesus didn’t die on the cross and when they say there is no such thing as the Holy Trinity, I don’t deny it…
But to say that all imams are pro-violence against the innocent is a pretty gross generalization, the way I see it.
Of course, if you keep insulting somebody to his face in front of others, he’d be prone to react and wouldn’t you in his/her place?
That does not mean you will shoot that person…

Was it not the Church that ordered the Spanish Incuisition??
Was it not the Church that ordered the killing of all witches??
Was it not the DIRECT orders of God for moses to kill 3 thousand men women and children, For worshiping a false idol??
Do you even know what an inquisition is? As for the abuses that occured during the Spanish Inquisition, the Vatican condemned them, did you know that?
As for the killing of all witches, would you be kind enough as to tell us what you are exactly referring to?
And last of all, certainly in Moses’ times you would have exactly the mentality you have now, that’s so crystal clear!!! Now, let’s be more serious here:*you can’t judge the years 1250 B.C. with quite the same criterias as our present age. The Torah contributed a lot as to the evolution of morals, and so did the Prophets after them, and the reflections of the Jewish people during their long exile in Babylon… And Jesus the Christ came even later…
Think about it, whiteknite…

Moreover, whiteknite, what will you say against Jesus the Christ Himself?

Amen, there is a lot of lies propagated about Islam. We need be more discerning in what we read and what we allow to impregnate our minds and thinking. 🙂

Blessings and peace

I enjoy how little is actually known about Islam, terrorism, and the middle east. For instance, did you know that there are different sects of Islam? Most notably, Sunni and Shia. But, 90% of Islam is Sunni according to the CIA World Factbook. The other 10% is Shia. Why is that worth knowing? Did you know that the middle east is predominantly Shia? In Iraq and Iran, there are over 72 million Shia Muslims. So what? The middle east is really the source of modern Islamic militancy. Starting with Sayed Abul Ala Maududi and his writings, to Hassan al-Banna and his Muslim Brotherhood movement, groups have split off. Yet, these groups all trace their sources to the middle east. It’s kind of funny. Why? The majority of Islam is NOT THERE. Claims that Islam alone has a long and bloody history are lofty. Calling Islam the breeding grounds for terrorism is almost always inspired by American culture as well as TV. The fact of the matter is that outside of the US, people have noticed the maturing and modernizing of Islam as a religion just as much as they have seen with Christianity. It is in the US predominantly that xenophobia paints Muslims in red… much like it does Catholics.

I would say that we as Americans have a lot to learn if we would only get our heads out of our rears. I’m sure we can all find the sign up sheet for the “Separating Fact From Fiction” six week course down at the local college. And maybe you might notice the growing threat of Christian terrorism in the world too, something not often run on the news here in America.

**That is a very good post. We Muslims will never believe that Jesus died a cursed death on the cross. We will never believe that jesus was God or a literal son of God. That is not due to any enmity for the church. No. That is because our religion teaches us that.

But we know clearly that the christians believe Jesus was God. That he was the creator of heavens and the earth. That he was (and is) a son of God. That jesus died on the cross. that he atoned the sins of mankind by dying on the cross. We know that these are the beliefs of the christians, whether these are right (good) beliefs or wrong, it is upto them. They can believe what they like. We do not stop them from believing anything.

But slandering and falsely accusing some one is not the best way for us or the christians. That is abusing in very bad words is not to be allowed. That is why the preaching of the christian faith is not being allowed in Islamic countires.

Peaceful preaching could not be banned, never be banned. I would support any peaceful preaching and would provide the stage and all help for the Catholics to give their lectures. But not if they spread lies and start abusing the men of God.

That post by Lapell is very good. Even if it is a christian mind but it is more like Jesus or Moses or Muhammad, not like the devil.**

Moreover, whiteknite, what will you say against Jesus the Christ Himself?
My idea of Jesus is that his ministry was simple…
Religon was getting out of hand and he was here to teach us that we dont realy need a priest to reach God.
Thats why he preached in the open. The church had become a money pit and an Institution of men that had begun to make there own rules.
He never asked for money that people didnt have, [To make his journeys]
He never asked for food that the people had, [While on his journeys]
Even the clothes he wore was simple white robes to show him as simple and poor.
People followed him about when they could just to hear his teaching.
He even fed people who was starving…
When i see a church NOW, There full of Expensive window leadlite, Gold candle sticks, The priests residance are top notch…
Were is the need for that??
Jesus preached in the open to show that we dont need anyone person or persons to reach God, God is all around us, God is in our hearts, We dont need various people naming there believes as Catholic, Muslim etc…
Is it in the name or the heart??
Seems because a label gets attached from a cult and whoever is in that cult gets persicuted…
IS THAT WHAT RELIGON HAS COME TO???
I know i’m good and try not to do bad…Why be part of a cult to prove it…
Prayers are individual not a mass party…

Yeah. Americans have a lot to learn. Many of us in Europe have experienced what Moslem immigration does to small countries and how it brings conflict and many antidemocratic elements… have you heard about Hitz-but-Tahrir? Thats an organisation that is quite famous among young Moslems here and it teaches agaist integration, against mingling with us infidels and for a slow but determined subversion of democracy in our societies. Our Jews are fleeing to other countries because they can hardly show them selves with a jewish kippa in the bigger cities without getting attacked . You dont believe it? You better believe it. In the capital area we have had instances, already ten years ago, where Moslem children threatened Christian children to take off their crosses. Our social-democratic left wing governments have been slow to react and to understand that all people are not thinking the same way as us… so they have let in endless numbers of immigrants from Moslem countries… now the left wing too are beginning to see that it might not have been so smart. Some months ago we had “french conditions” where hundreds of arabic kids waged war against the police and the whole society really… they put fire to things and buildings and threw stones at busses, firemen, and policeofficers that were out to do their job. The busses could not even go through the immigrant areas… These areas have become extremely dangerous … And all the while, these people say THEY are being discriminated and THEY are the victims.
What many of us over here think about Americans, including Georg Bush, is that you really are naive when it comes to Islam. At 9/11 we saw second generation Arabics in our society CELEBRATING what Osama had done… why would they not? Here they can get away with it.
All along many people here have been **so understanding ** we always have to be! … Excuse me but at a certain point it makes you wanna puke. These immigrants come here, drain our welfare system, sit around talking about “Danish whores”…
Agr… whats the use of trying to explain this to you? I’ll let history teach you. In the mean while… look at Lebanon. Its used to be a majority of Christians… now Christians are running for their life…

Grace …😦

WhiteKnite…
You really act like you were born yesterday. Your idealism on behalf of human ability to reach the right conclusions all by themselves is really somewhat sweet.
What do you think happens to a child that is left in the jungle alone… if he does not die what happens?

I’ll give you a hint: he does not become a Tarzan.

You will never see a poor priest…
Religon is ALL about money at the top.
