Not a thread to debate Pre Vatican II Papal comments on Moral Fashion guidelines.

This is just a thread for people who agree with that spirituality of Pre Vatican II (of which my grandparents generation still hold to in my country, and which many of the saints such as Padre Pio supported).

It is a thread for catholics who agree with these catholic standingpoints to join a groupchat in the catholicforums mailbox that I am sertting up

-a seperate thread can be made for debating Pre Vatican II differences
You keep saying that, but unless I have missed someone, it doesn’t look like you have a single taker on your offer. I think people are trying to kindly tell you how extremely strange your request came off.

Mr Bear,

My lack of emojis may have caused you not to see I was being gentle,

You said I was similar to guys who go online looking for traditional catholics such as women who don’t wear trousers? (Hurt ma’ feelings…)

I only said I was looking for traditional catholics to start a group chat here, And asked others not to comment on all their opinions on the different catholic viewpoints I mentioned But to try and stay on the topic of this thread,

That those topics can be fair game for seperate threads. ā˜ŗļø

It is not a strange request to wonder are there any members here who share the orthodox Pre Vatican ii spirituality of my grandparents generation,

Yes I have had a few PM messages from traditional catholics who share those catholic viewpoints šŸ™‚

I thought I was just stating a fact, not trying to be hurtful. Bears are rather blunt and direct.

I have no problem with you looking for whatever type of person you want to correspond with. There is nothing inherently wrong in your request. Many if not most US people will find it odd, but some will likely take you up on it, as I said.

BTW, I’m a Ms. Bear. Actually, to be absolutely correct, I’m The Widow Bear.

Sorry if we had a misunderstanding, I was just trying to communicate to the other poster that your request wasn’t that odd IMHO.

Thank you Ms Bear, šŸ™‚

In the world of messaging without emojis a comment can be taken up as being said with in any kind of tone, lol

Just asking people to be respect that I have very conservative catholic beliefs mentioned above (as I know my own grandparents generation, and saints such as Padre Pio had very conservative beliefs).
We should probably start another thread on this…but I just wanted to mention that a dress code can’t really qualify as a ā€œbeliefā€ within a Catholic context. We believe in modesty. That is a doctrinal principle that all Catholics uphold. How that is lived in real life is going to vary… for example, if a woman dressed as you described in your OP (shoulders and knees covered), she would be likely decried as a whore for showing her calves and / or hair in the land and time of Our Lord and Lady…or in parts of the Middle East today…
Your ā€œconservativeā€ dress code is the radical liberal dress code of some locales ;). I’ll leave it at that.

I said this isn’t a thread on discussion of Pre Vatican II or Post Vatican II differences.

It is a thread for people who agree with certain Pre Vatican II elements (such as the modest fashion guidelines of Pre Vatican II,) to PM me to join a traditional catholic private group chat here in the catholic forums mailbox option,

I have already had a number of traditional catholics PM me to join a private mailbox chat group here, for similar minded catholics,

And that the debate of Pre and Post Vatican II is for another thread entirely.

meaning those women in the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s didn’t wear the prairie skirts or denim jumpers that seem to be the uniform of sedevacantist and SSPX women.
I love prairie dresses and muu muus down to the floor. They’re comfortable. I hope nobody thinks I’m a sede when I go around in them.

Of course, the next day I may be at Mass at the Newman Center in baggy jam shorts, Vans, and a concert t-shirt.

I am talking of my own grandparents generation in my country who yes had a strict following of Pre Vatican II fashion.

Padre Pio is another supporter of this modest fashion style. Many saints and Popes also were strong supporters of a strong moral fashion style that I describe in the original OP.

This is not a thread to discuss Pre Vatican and Post Vatican II , this is a thread for those who are of the same mindset as the catholics I have described.

I have already had a number of people message me about joining my catholic forums private chat group. This thread is for those people to PM me to join this group of this specific type of catholic mindset.

Debating the topics I hace described is for another thread entirely.

Anyways like minded catholics feel free to PM me and I will add you to the group of catholics in the groupchat mailbox option which will continue after this thread closes .

Bears that raid campsites are just trying to have fellowship time and build community.

I’m one of those aloof bears that prefers to stay in the woods and climb a tree.

I am a 20 year old Catholic guy who has penpals of his own.

You see, I regularly write postcards on postcrossing DOT com and send real pen and paper letters to my penpals I made by searching through the forum.

For privacy, I rent out a postbox. But even so, it is a safe hobby because my pen pals are in far away countries and are generally good charactered people.

Postcrossing, although it has a forum, is not a penpal site. It’s a site where you send a postcard with a special ID number written to a random member and receive a card from a different random member back.

My penpals are in the age range of from 17 to 22. It’s cool when we get to exchange flat stuff like stamps, or even sudoku puzzles.

So, I don’t know if I am ā€œyour typeā€ but hey, I am willing to give it a try.

PS: Try postcrossing, you won’t be disappointed.

In post 5, your posts tells people not to hate based on their responses to you earlier. So yes, you did accuse people.

As far as calling previous threads into this one, I did no such thing. I spoke about you, not any particular thread. You are fond of telling people to stop hating whenever you disagree with them.

And as for who can reply, this is an open forum. Anyone can reply. You don’t get to decide since you don’t own the forum. Sorry about that.

Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut irish mom

God bless you and have a wonderful day

In my country ā€˜no haters please’ is slang for, lets all get along civilly please šŸ™‚

Thanks to all for keeping to the requests in my thread ,

Catholic forums allow members to flag a post in a thread that is ā€˜off topic’. And my request as the OP was only that people keep ā€˜on topic’ of the request of the thread topic being a request for this not to be a thread debating the catholic viewpoints that I and other catholics hold, but a thread looking for penpals that are other like minded catholics.

The OP and Moderators are allowed to flag people who are ā€˜off topic’ and request people to keep to the topic of the thread.

Blessings to you all.

And thanks to the traditional like minded catholics who have PM’d me to join my mailbox group chat!!!

What’s a conservative Catholic?
A good question .

The answer is that all Catholics are conservative .

We conserve that which is true and good which has been handed down to us from God via the Church .

In the same way we are all progressive in the sense that we want to continually reform the Church , cleansing it of all that is an impediment to the preservation and transmission of the good and the true …
