A bandaid after the fact. A deity with all the qualities ascribed to the Christian God would prevent suffering before it started,
Have you heard the story of the Passion? 😉
or at least furnish us with some understanding of the purpose of such suffering, a comprehension of why it was necessary - if it was - beyond a lame supposition that all the children killed in this latest massacre were somehow spared from sinning in later life. As if anyone could know this.
Right…‘as if anyone can know this’…so why do you think that God somehow has a ‘duty’ to furnish us with some understanding of the purpose of specific suffering? God’s time is not our time, and we may not know RIGHT NOW what earthly good will come out of the murder of innocent children YET.

Personally, I wouldn’t find comfort in children being killed as sparing them from future sin, but I’m sure there will be much good that will come out of people in the families, & community as a result of them suffering and letting God lead them through this tragedy.
The atheist worldview puts the answer where it belongs - with us, not with an imaginary being who never seems to come through when it counts.
With ‘us’?? Why is the answer with ‘us’…are we the ‘be-all-end-all-reason-for-everything’?

God comes through plenty. Who’s to decide ‘when it counts’ and when it doesn’t? And counts for whom? What if what you want God to come through with wouldn’t be best for you in the long run (or would harm others)?🤷
