“Intercessional music”?Even though I know it’s not a hymn, I do enjoy hearing Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring as intercessional music. One of the finest pieces composed by Johann Sebastian Bach

In the Pentecostal church where I grew up in the '50s and early '60s, that song was in the denomination’s hymnal (which is still being printed, BTW). There was a man who had a fine voice and would occasionally sing it as a “special”. Even as a kid, I always enjoyed hearing it, and if I could sing, I would sing it.I forgot about this older hymn. It is based on a scripture reference from 2 Timothy 1:12. I find it very soothing when I hear it.
We used it, with all verses!, at a Knights of Columbus convention.Onward Christian Soldiers
