And, perhaps in time, “No, you don’t qualify for Avastin because you’re too old under the guidelines for an expense of that magnitude. Not cost-effective. But these ‘go to sleep forever’ pills are free.”

And, of course, there will be those who will say “ridiculous” “paranoid” and so on. But they do it in Europe, and this administration is absolutely in love with killing, and all the apologists for Obama said he would never do what he’s doing now. I expect it, sometime in Obama’s second term.
Actually Obama admitted this was his goal. Remember his example of an elderly and ill person who maybe should “not have the surgery but instead get a pain pill.” Frightening! I truly think the man is a fan of eugenics. He and Peter Singer make a great team don’t they?

Sarah Palin was right about ‘death panels.’ That is the eventual goal.

That is, in fact, inevitable.

With all the hubbub about mandates people seem to have forgotten that one of the main purposes of Obamacare was to “bend the cost curve” of health care. Preventing pregnancy is certainly one way to accomplish that. Controlling health care by policy, i.e. death panels, is another.

Anyone who cries “ridiculous” or “paranoid” is just being willfully stupid.

So far we heard a lot about his abortion policy, but we don’t hear too much about the “death panel”, why is that? The limit or deny of older people’s medical treatment is as outrageous as killing the babies, but I don’t see any grassroots organization fight against that. Why?

WHAT???!!! :eek::eek::eek:

I’ve never heard of such a thing!! Is Obama really that anti-life? seriously? Does he not think that he and people he loves will eventually (if they are lucky) grow old and need that medicine? Is his view about human life so utilitarian? I thought the abortion supporters do so because they don’t believe that humanity begins at conception…but surely, everyone must know that old people are people, no?

Old people are expensive. And expendable.

Seriously, here is an old article:
Contemplating the 2012 election that can already be seen looming on the distant horizon, the President’s advisors were no doubt hoping that the “death panel” debate was… well… dead. But Obama himself inadvertently resurrected it when, in response to Republican budget proposals, he claimed that Medicare costs will be kept under control by the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). Obamacare opponents have been screaming about this committee since it was first added to the “reform” bill. And, since that time, anyone with the temerity to call it by its proper name – death panel – has been vilified by the Democrats and the “news” media. Nonetheless, that’s precisely what IPAB will be. Its sole purpose is to cut funding for some health care services seniors now take for granted. And those cuts will kill people.

But birth control, sterilizations, and abortion is a “right” and “necessary”.
To whom??? How did the world exist before 1970??!!! Oh my word. We are saviors of the world. NOT.

I was just reading the news and I see today that Catholic Charities is saying that the Obama administration used their name without their consent. And now they say that they don’t approve of the mandate. I’m not sure what’s going on. I hope that’s true!

I hope it’s true, too.

Anyone who has had to deal with a relative with life threatening conditions in the last decade will recognize the pressure to sign a “do not resuscitate, do not intubate” release. Those stubborn patients who want to live and their relatives are getting in the way of efficiency.

This has to stop too. That’s euthanasia.

In response to a great number of mischaracterizations in the media, Catholic Charities USA wants to make two things very clear
:
  1. We have not endorsed the accommodation to the HHS mandate that was announced by the Administration last Friday.
  2. We unequivocally share the goal of the US Catholic bishops to uphold religious liberty and will continue to work with the USCCB towards that goal.
Any representation to the contrary is false.

Yes, that is true. It is called “ration”, means there are limited resources, not everybody can get what they “want”. In his plan whoever get on Medicare, which everyone will when reach age of 65, then government has to approve your treatment before you can get it. He will create lot of jobs by forming a large data base and many people at the computer, when you (age 65 or older) need certain treatment, your information is sent to the central office, someone at the computer will use all information received to send back the response to let you know if your case is approved or denied. Chances are anyone above 65 will be denied for any operation and advanced treatment. That is called ration. That is another way to save the healthcare cost. In other words, you’d better not get sick when you are old, otherwise, prepare to die as soon as you are sick. This is America after 2013 if Obamacare is not overturned.

Or perhaps a wee bit of pressure helped? Who knows.
We will probably never know. As long as it comes out that they are with the USCCB as long as they have “Catholic” in their title, it’s all good by me.👍

Yes the “Death Panels” which didn’t exist according to the Dems during the Obamacare debate were craftily removed from the legislation once Sarah Palin sounded the alarm. But not entirely. The IPAB which survived is in fact a death panel and will handcuff doctors as to what treatment they are ALLOWED to provide. It’s not simply that older, sicker people would be denied care, even younger people with treatable diseases will have to knuckle under the green eyeshade types (BTW I am an accountant) whose mission it is to control costs. If the determined “best practice” is a specific protocol but the doctor does not think this would be the best course of treatment for a specific patient he would be prevented from authorizing such treatment…it isn’t this way YET but the theory is clearly envisioned by the Washington bureaucrats who know what’s best for us. In the original bill there was a specific carve out for doctors to get paid to have one of those yearly chats with their patients “Well Mr Smith I see you have heart disease, have you thought about a Living Will and a DNR yet?” Wouldn’t want to spend too much money would we?

You can see a model of this type of protocol with respect to organ transplants. Potential patients are triaged as to their age, condition and likelihood of success. Now it’s understandable that with limited organs available, they must be carefully distributed to recipients with the greatest chance of survival. So in effect a rationing system has been put in place. OTOH in the case of medical protocols it’s not the lack of treatment but the cost that will reign over the welfare of the patients.
