The Title X Family Planning Program, (Public Law 91-572) was enacted under President Richard Nixon in 1970 as part of the Public Health Service Act. Title X is completely devoted to providing comprehensive family planning services.

This program allows 90% of women in this country to go to Walmart, CVS, and other places to buy the Pill for $9 a month - $100 a year for the Pill, not $1000 a year as recent congressional testimony indicated.

All of this lends credence to the claims that this so-called health care crisis was completely and totally fabricated by our president.

In May 1953, the Polish government ordered the implementation of a decree giving the state the authority to appoint and remove Catholic priests and bishops throughout the country: The Catholic Church was to become a subsidiary of the Polish state; its clergy would act as agents of state power; and its educational and charitable activities would be approved (or rejected) by a state intent on bringing the most important institution in Polish civil society to heel. The bishops of Poland, who had tried for years to find a modus vivendi with the Communist regime, now drew the line. Meeting in Kraków under the leadership of the country’s primate, Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński, the Polish episcopate issued a memorandum deploring the government’s attempt to turn the Church “into an instrument of the state” as a violation of the natures of both church and state. The memorandum concluded memorably: “We are not allowed to place the things of God on the altar of Caesar, Non possumus! [We cannot!].”
Americans accustomed to religious freedom may, at first blush, find it hard to imagine any possible analogy between our situation today, in the midst of the debate over the HHS “contraceptive mandate,” and that of Poland’s Christians in 1953; of course those brave men and women faced challenges far beyond those facing American believers today. Yet the structure of the moral and political argument, then and now, is eerily similar. In both cases, an overweening and arrogant government tries, through the use of coercive power, to make the Church a subsidiary of the state. In both cases, the state claims the authority to define religious ministries and services on its own narrow and secularist terms. In both cases, the state is attempting to co-opt as much of society as it can, while the Church is defending the prerogatives of civil society.

I believe the Left lives in alternate universe. They cannot seem to comprehend the absolute hypocrisy of their positions. Choice is to be protected as long as it’s the Left’s choice. Religious liberty is to be relegated to the privacy of one’s home or church while the right to liberty to inflict your views of human sexuality must be shoved in our face at every turn.

Obama is 'perplexed" by the rhetoric. After all we must COMPROMISE in this “big messy Democracy.” A) It’s a Republic Mr Obama B) It’s messy because you made it so and C) Why does compromise mean come over to YOUR side?

I cannot make up my mind whether he is truly malicious or simply ignorant. Every question he asks has a very obvious and common sense answer. It’s not brain surgery or rocket science…

 Well it is true that many of Obamas mentors in his youth are communists, socialists, and Marxists, and that he advocated for the murdering of Christians when he was advocating for his brother to get elected and that he has given speeches at several socialist and Marxist public gatherings. That doesn’t nessasarily make him a socialist but, he has advocated for socialist economic and Goverment policies. He also extensively studied under a Marxist and he also had formed a plan in the late 70s in order to eventually be elected with those similar policies enacted as a president of the united states. He also broke almost every single promise he made during his election campaign during the first MONTH of being president.
He has a great family and I’m not sure what he wants to do to the constitution and the American people but it does not look good. I was shocked when I found all of this out is you want to see a short summary of his background watch the YouTube video: obamas three flags.

God bless america and the president
Shalom

Carney to bishops: Birth control decision is final
White House spokesman Jay Carney on Thursday dismissed calls for a reconsideration of President Barack Obama’s controversial regulation of the health care policies offered by religious organizations, one day after Catholic leaders repeated their offer to hash out an agreement.
“The solution that was reached here … has been reached, and we firmly believe that it achieves the goals that the president set,” Carney said at Thursday’s White House press conference.

Only place this is going to be resolved is the courts with the 9 lawsuits that are now going ahead.

In addition, a friend sent this link to me yesterday which should give every American Democrat pause. Look and heed:

Socialist Party of America releases the names of 70 Democrat Members Of Congress who are members of their caucus:

American Socialist Voter:

Q:
How many members of the U.S. Congress are also members of the DSA?

A: Seventy

**Q: **How many of the DSA members sit on the Judiciary Committee?

A: Eleven: John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez, Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez [there are 23 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of which eleven, almost half, are now members of the DSA].

Americans don’t shed their constitutional rights when they open a for-profit business. While much of the attention surrounding the HHS mandates has focused on religious institutions, the Obama mandates also improperly restrict the liberties of private businesses. Today my colleagues at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) filed the first lawsuit by a private business owner challenging Obama’s mandate. The suit, brought by Frank R. O’Brien and O’Brien Industrial Holdings, centers around a fundamental claim: Mr. O’Brien — a Catholic — “wishes to conduct his business in a manner that does not violate the principles of his religious faith.”

Exactly. This administration’s motto seems to be, ‘Ignore the will of the people, ignore the constitution, the President’s goals comes first.’ :tsktsk:

Church Fights Epic Battle With the Culture
Brian Hampel, in his March 5 article in the Kansas State Collegian, “Contraception Should Not Be Treated as Issue of Religious Liberty

“If we can require Jehovah’s Witnesses to cover blood transfusions, why couldn’t we require Catholics to cover birth control?”

This is the argument that we need to refute if we are going to stop the Obama mandate (and his even worse “accommodation”).

I know! Where does this come from - this is not constitutional, you can not force people who have moral or religious objections to pay for something they oppose too.

I pray to God the whole ObamaCare law is found unconstitutional. A religious exemption is not enough.

There is a difference, though (I think…)

I can’t figure out from the JW sites, but I did see two JW’s post about blood transfusions. They say that they refuse them because God asks us to abstain from blood, but that it is NOT believed to be evil. (In fact, they can receive blood, as long as it is “fractioned”…they can receive it in parts, just not as whole blood, from my limited understanding.)

The Church would say that to provide contraceptive coverage is to provide something morally evil to others. JW’s would not say that transfusions are evil, they are just something God does not want us to do. So while I support them if they feel they should not have to cover blood transfusions, this helps me to understand why you don’t hear JW’s speaking up on this for themselves.

You are correct, all sorts of distinctions can be drawn in this comparison but, ultimately, the clearest and simplest answer is that government should refrain from dictating solutions absent a compelling need to do so. Every time the government gets involved, by definition, it is forcefully imposing someone’s morality on somene else. While that cannot be avoided altogether, it can be minimized insofar as people can trust voluntary institutions (such as the Church) to act in the absence of government force. Needless to say, those advocating socialized health care would rather place their trust in government and take their chances with the health care ethics it will choose to impose on us.
Where does this come from…
Sadly, as has been previously discussed, American Catholic bishops have had at least some small part in this. I hope this will change and that the bishops will turn their attention back to what Catholics and the Church can do directly for the poor.

Agreed.
