I doubt it goes anywhere.

Protestants and Catholics already follow the same dating of Easter.

What happens to protestants if Catholics (along with Anglicans) celebrate with the Orthodox church?

I doubt they’ll change at the direction of the Pope.
Furthermore, what would the cultural implications of this be?
For example, when pretty much everyone else in the US is celebrating Easter in March like this year.
Catholics would wait until May? Like the Orthodox Easter this year?

Nah. I see no real reason for it.

I think it would be wrong for the majority of Christendom to change just for the Orthodox, who’s Easter date is so far from Passover, its makes no sense.

If anything, they should be changing to the date we celebrate, but that will never happening.

maybe we could compromise and celebrate Christmas on their date and celebrate Easter on our date.

Wasn’t there an article last year about the papal office and an Eastern Orthodox authority attempting to sort out some agreement on the church calendar, so we aren’t doing Easter when they’re just getting ready for Palm Sunday?

Its not a matter of “our date,” vs “their date,” but what is theologically sound.

You’ll never see Christmas changed to any other date from December 25th.

Easter, should always remain as close to Passover as possible, for it was in the week of the Jewish Passover that Jesus as crucified, died and rose.

it is about our date vs. their date because our date for Easter is close to the Jewish Passover.
