=VanSensei;11464254]I think it would be fine. Mormons DO believe in our God and have a rudimentary, albeit flawed understanding of the holy trinity. (They do believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, but in a different way.)
No dear friend; they do NOT believe in “our God”

There god had sex and two sons were born: “christ and satan”…THAT is NOT Christian belief.
😊

Ya BUT:o

Doing this is a high risk “scandal” for the CC:eek:

Pray For them; BUT NOT WITH them:thumbsup:
Would this be causing scandal?

You know there are going to be Catholics and mormons praying together.

If the Catholic leads the prayer, then everything should be fine.

25 For this end was the law given; wherefore the law hath become dead unto us, and we are made alive in Christ because of our faith; yet we keep the law because of the commandments.

26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

27 Wherefore, we speak concerning the law that our children may know the deadness of the law; and they, by knowing the deadness of the law, may look forward unto that life which is in Christ, and know for what end the law was given. And after the law is fulfilled in Christ, that they need not harden their hearts against him when the law ought to be done away.

2 Nephi 25:25-27, The Book of Mormon. They believe in our God and are Christian. The end.

=twopekinguys;11471308]This conference is going on at Notre Dame.
Do you think Catholics and mormons are praying together there?
SADLY that is NOT assurance it’s a CATHOLIC event:thumbsup:

I was taught by the Brothers of Holy Cross who are HQ’d there.

Keep in mind they Gave Oboma an AWARD & and had the Vagina-Monologue play there:blush:

Like many “once Catholic” Universities; it’s at best these day’s a hit or miss deal.

Our Bishop (Daniel Jenky) is one of those brothers, and was an auxiliary Bishop there.

But, unfortunately, you haven’t answered the question.

Do you think they prayed together at that conference at Notre Dame?

No, they do not. The Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price are fan fictions, loosely based on existing Christian faith but transformed into something new and different. It is a new religion, which has borrowed Christian words, phrases, even scripture, but applied meaning that was never there before. Beginning with the word “God”.

Very likely:shrug:

But not being a TRUE “Catholic university”; I fail to see how it makes your point?

God Bless you,
patrick

Latter-day Saints believe in a number of doctrines related to God that differ from how orthodox or traditional Christians view God, such as:

-the Father having once been a man, as well as allowing for the possibility that He was once a man that progressed to/achieved Godhood.

-the Father is married to a Heavenly Mother

-the Son and the Holy Ghost are literal spiritual offspring of the Father and Mother, as we all are (the Son/Jesus/Jehovah being the literal firstborn spirit child)

-rejection of the orthodox understanding of the oneness of being/substance/essence/nature of the Trinity (and their criticisms of this doctrine tend to criticize the Modalistic heresy, and not a coherent understanding of the Trinity doctrine). LDS teach that the unity of the Godhead is one of purpose.

-Latter-day Saints are okay with speaking of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as “three Gods”, in addition to referring to them as “one God”, i.e. Godhead.

Why would you deny the One True God your prayers and pray to a pagan god?
