The Arabic name for “God” is the word “Al-ilah.” It is a generic title for whatever god was considered the highest god. “allah” was being worshipped at the kaa’ba in mecca by Arabs prior to the time of mohammed. It was formerly the name of the chief god among the numerous idols (360) in the kaaba in mecca before mohammed made them into monotheists. One, Allah means God in Arabic. Dieu in French. Dio in Italian. Dios in Spanish. Is that also a grave insult?
Now if you want to call the Only True God equal to that of baal then its your call. Deo, Dios, Dieu I have no problem, but to call Him a pagan god is blasphemy to me. Might as well call Him zeus but the greeks call Him Theos.
…which was made in line with our Christian heritage and values. Two, there’s dishonor to women in The Bible,** and ‘rights’ to women came through secularly**. In a Christian marriage… today… do you know why your wife has your last name?
Do you know why we were only allowed to marry one wife? I think the answer is not “because wives are allowed four husbands”.
