There’s always going to be people on the same path to a certain destination, but they’re not all together in one place, they’re spread out at different points along the way. This is why we can’t judge any of them as to their sincerity of heart, or paint them all with the same brush, that is God’s job, who is the reader of hearts and minds. I do believe we will be judged according to what we know and have been given when our time is up, and those who through no fault of their own, didn’t have the benefit of correct understanding will be judged according to that standard.
AMEN!!

It is an inaccurate representation of LDS beliefs.
Then PLEASE be specific in exactly what manner.

I doubt that there is intent to falsify any information regards your faith beliefs.

God Bless you friend!

Yes you did. We shall temporarily ignore that your church rejects the KJV…
Not really accurate. The removal of books from the Bible is what is rejected. I know many Catholics who use the KJV in conjunction with a Bible that has not had books removed. We are not required to use a single translation, or a particular Bible. Most Catholics I know have a favorite translation, with additional translations for study.

Also, technically, a closed canon addresses the removal of books (Council of Trent). It does not address additional books, though, additions are highly unlikely since we consider the Revelation of Jesus Christ to be the fullness of God’s Word.
Now please:
  1. Provide scriptural case for why this verse shall be taken as a literal statement when you choose to take all other similar as metaphorical.
  2. Provide other verses witnessing say the same thing.
Again, Catholics are not sola scriptura.

Our witness is the apostolic faith and faithful Christians through the ages.

RebeccaJ (or anyone) - which post is this a response to? What is the verse in question here?

Agreed, to my knowledge the only modern translation that is currently rejected is the New World Translation - I am sure there were some in the 1500 and 1600’s and don’t know if the one of the older KJV was ever rejected. Catholics are free to use any translation they like and some prefer the Douay-Rheimes if they prefer the English of that period. I personally own a KJV as I do many other translations (including the NWT).

A question I have from the LDS website:

And they may reject that the Eucharist is the Blood and Body of Christ still be the “same” Gospel?
For me its the Eucharist that defines the Christian.
John 6 is very explicit about the “True Presence”. So explicit many disciples walk away! This occurs to this day.

Hey - maybe none of us are Christian…

Are you sure you want to use* that particular site* as a resource on whether or not Catholics are Christian? The owner is an avowed Calvinist ( I’d say super- hard core. I don’t think even conservative Reformed and Presbyterian Christians regard his statements as representing them).

No, let’s not use that site, we don’t rate very high there.😦

LOL!!

I love all Slick’s grids and charts he creates.

Even makes one for “essential Christian teaching”, meaning you aren’t saved unless you believe in these “essentials”. First of all, there is no chart in the bible with essentials, second of all, last time I checked, all of it is essential Matt 4:4

He is the same category as Mike Gendon. Not worth responding to.
