If Catholicism would exist in those day it would be listed as a pagan religion…the Christians of those times were not idol worshipers as the Catholics today are

there are many good believers among protestants because they are closer to the true Christianity, but Catholicism is far away from it…its nothing about changing the rules, its just…Catholics are not part of the Christianity that the Koran speaks about
Your lack of knowledge is not helping your cause. You know well enough we are NOT idol worshippers. This is another misconception your religion has taught you which is untrue about the Catholic church.
There are many proper resources, such as this site that tells you why we have statues, pictures etc in churches.
Also, since you accuse us of idol worshipping because we kneel before statues, why do you bow down to a big black rock? Is that cause your worshipping a big black rock? This makes you idol worshippers doesnt it?

What are “those day”? Are you talking about 7th century of mohamad?
the Christians of those times were not idol worshipers as the Catholics today are
Please explain - I do not understand. Elaborate…

What is the “true Christianity” - please define it.
but Catholicism is far away from it…its nothing about changing the rules, its just…Catholics are not part of the Christianity that the Koran speaks about
How is Catholicism far away from it? Explain… and how are the Catholics not part of Christianity. And show me proof about what the koran states for “Catholics” and what it speaks about.

Thanks!

So Protestant Christians are closer to authentic historic Christianity and Catholics and Orthodox practice a degraded version of it? Isn’t that the exact opposite of what actual history teaches us?

I have alot of respect for muslim women since they are modest and fear God.

Praise to Allah , Hilawah

Well, that is necessary. When Uthman put the Quran together he did so with an erroneous understanding of the Trinity. He thought that Christians believed in three gods. Since he put this in the Quran, and since Muslims are obligated to believe the Quran is a divine book, they must by default accept what they know is not true. This can lead to all sorts of mixed up thinking.

The fact that all of the beliefs the Church holds today can be documented in the 8th century is really beside the point.

But back to the OP, the Quran does not forbid a Muslim woman to marry a Christian or Jew so the extra scholastic work can be accepted or ignored according to her conscience. Of course this is barring any immediate legal ramifications, such as the act being illegal in her home country.

My personal opinion is that you are not a “Catholic” but a troll- by praising allah and since this is an English forum - what’s hilawah.

And besides we are not talking about “modest” muslim women outfits that fear God.

I don’t know anymore! who’s who

I don’t understand why people just can’t come into a forum as they are…!!!

I’m not certain that this member is a “troll” but for God’s sake on a Catholic form, stating you are a Catholic and praising allah for me it’s too much… 😦

**Sorry to all - I just don’t know anymore. ** 😦

I would like to contribute to this post regarding Uthmans koran and the other korans and will reply under “ask islam rount 4” thread.

 What!?!

(Although I will agree that “Catholics are not part of the Christianity/Catholicism that the Koran speaks about” - because Muhammad didn’t write the truth about Christianity back then - only the heretical ideas that he knew about. So the Quran didn’t/doesn’t have the Truth about Christianity/Catholicism in it. 🙂 )

EDIT: I just noticed the title of this thread and that my reply is a bit off topic 😊 :D.

I would still like to know if a muslim man converts after marrying a muslim woman will a judge automatically declare their marriage void, or does the woman have to object or petition the court to divorce him?

A Muslim woman is not supposed to live with a non-Muslim. So , she should take initiatives to end up her married life . If no one objects & goes to the judge , to my knowledge , still their marriage is not considered as valid anymore.

And Allah Knows Best.

Im a Roman Catholic…and to the woman who called me a troll God love you!!!

Allah is simply the name for God in Arabic…So All I said was Praise God… there’s no harm in that.

Hilawah means Beautiful In arabic…

As the Pope says both Religions can learn something from each other , I think one of the great lessons we can learn from the Muslims is there modesty in dress.

Shalom

Bosnian Muslim, you have absolutely no idea! Your lack of knowledge is apparent!

Idol worshippers you say? Catholics do not worship statues or pictures period! these are ways to help us pray even more feverently to God!

I would not place any faith in a man who was deceived by satan like Mohammed was! Each time the “angel” appeared to him and delivered his message, he tried to kill himself. Tell me Bosnian muslim, if you were to receive a message directly from god would you try to kill yourself?

God bless.

I think this is the only thing we can learn from the muslims, it’s not like we can take anything from their teachings.

That verse talks about unbelievers - idolaters.

Not Christians and Jews.
I see where the confusion is, you have to differentiate between “Al-Mushrekeen” & “Al-Kafreen”.
Al-Mushrekeen (المشركين): Those who associate partners with Allah or make for him likeness.
Al-Kafreen (aka Pagans/Unbelievers) (الكافرين): Not believing in Allah nor all his messengers.

The Quranic verse in (Quran 2:221) refers to Al-Mushrekeen (المشركين) NOT Al-Kafreen, look at the Arabic word in the original Quranic text:
ولا تنكحوا المشركات حتى يؤمن ولأمة مؤمنة خير من مشركة ولو أعجبتكم ولا تنكحوا المشركين حتى يؤمنوا ولعبد مؤمن خير من مشرك ولو أعجبكم أولئك يدعون إلى النار والله يدعو إلى الجنة والمغفرة بإذنه ويبين آياته للناس لعلهم يتذكرون

Al-Mushrekeen (المشركين): Can be called also to the people of the book as seen in (Quran 9:31):
They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Al-Masih, the son of Maryam; yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).

اتخذو احبارهم ورهبانهم اربابا من دون الله و المسيح ابن مريم وما امرو الا ليعبدوا الها واحدا لا اله الا هو سبحنه عمايشركون

Notice the Arabic word (يشركون) its the verb of the noun Al-Mushrekeen (المشركين).

I think “Unbelievers” is wrong translation for the word Al-Mushrekeen (المشركين), unless the cleric meant “Unbelievers in Muhammed”, that is why we always say Quran can’t be fully understood unless someone learns Arabic.

Protestants, and so you, think that they are closer to the “true Christianity” because they, and you, think that they are getting back to the roots.

Hardly. If they were getting back to their Christian roots, they would accept the primacy of the first Pope, Peter, and his successors. They would also accept the truth about the Eucharist. These things are basic. To deny these things, is to deny early Christian knowledge, not to get back to it.

The Reformation brought change. Each subsequent mini-reformation within Protestantism brings more change.

If you look at the early Church, one anti-Protestant thing was obviously true–that each local church did not have the right to determine doctrine for itself and that when they went astray, they were corrected----by the teaching authority of the Church.

To say that getting away from this thinking is getting back to Christian roots is getting it upside down, and backwards besides. 🙂

Idol worshiping. Are you intentionally telling a falsehood, or do you really not understand Catholicism?

If you insist that Catholics worship idols, you don’t know what Catholicism is. Since you don’t know what Catholicism is, your claim that Catholicism has changed from its earliest days has no validity.

Your example (idol worship) of why the CC isn’t in line with early Christianity is a false accusation, so your claim is invalid. Do you realize this? Do you realize that your argument is false, because your accusation against Catholics is false?
