I do not see the filioque as being a sign that myself and Catholic brothers and sisters do not worship the same God. This is a matter of the procession that the Trinity that, I personally believe, has more to do with confusion of words than it does the core of our Trinitarian belief, which is equal in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches.
Fair enough.

The key words here:
  • You do not see/ do not believe.
That is, as you say, your belief, not the belief of the Orthodoxy.
  • Core of (yours) Trinitarian belief.
The belief that there is “a core”, particularly about the Holy Trinity, is again yours, not the belief of the Orthodoxy.

Hopefully, you are still learning.

I truly now have no idea what you mean now. Of course we do not worship God with Satan.
What I meant is to demonstrate the absurdity of placing Orthodox within the alliance of Western Christians against Muslims.

Orthodox aren’t part of it, despite some of us may be confused and subscribe.

All right then. Please quote me one council or Holy Father who said that the Protestants and Catholics do not worship the same God as Orthodox.

I’m trully embarassed, I myself being a Greek Orthodox Christian and reading your replies, shame, shame!.

I’ve been on a few Orthodox forums on the internet and the way** you all **bash the Catholics is shamefull, down right shamefull ~ AND YES, don’t tell me the Catholics do the same because I’ve seen them too.

If anything is going to break Christianity and make islam bigger and stronger is Christianity itself.

May the LORD have mercy on all of our souls!

Actually, I agree on this.

Those Orthodox Christians who are willing to ally themselves with Jews, RCs and Protestants against Muslims are certainly trying to break Orthodox Christianity, but I don’t think the Holy Spirit will allow it.

You are free to worship the same God with Jews. Just don’t fool yourself Orthodox Christians will do the same.

Sir, I made a request of you:

Sir, I made a request of you:
I might do that, in a due time.

Meanwhile, let’s undertake a bit quid pro quo.

Quote me a Father, or a Council, who taught about the core of any belief.

Not the mention that the belief in Holy Trinity would be “core of the cores”.

You know, you guys, there are plenty of threads in which to engage in polemics regarding the differences between Orthodox Christians and Catholic Christians. This thread is about Muslim-Christian differences, not Christian-Christian differences. Please keep it that way, so as to avoid appearing divisive and weak in front of non-Christians.

I was not the one who made the claim that Protestants and Catholics worship an entirely different God than Orthodox. The burden of evidence is on you, sir. So I would ask you again to please present to me, since you claim I am merely speaking for myself, one council or one Holy Father who supports your stance. 🙂

Actually, it isn’t. It is about Jewish/Christian alliance against Muslims.

Or, do you hold Jews, with the meaning of Judaists (those holding the belief of Judaism), as Christians?

No, I do not hold Jews to be Christians. I left them out of my response because it is pre-supposed by the thread title that Christians and Jews are worshiping the same God, and I didn’t want to turn this thread into a discussion on that question, either. It is clearly about the Muslim belief in Allah as it relates to the Christian belief in God, if you re-read the OP.

With pleasure, after you.
Again, I am not the one making the claim that Roman Catholics and Protestants worship a God entirely different from Orthodox. If you wish to make a claim and then accuse fellow Orthodox of holding personal beliefs, please cite some Orthodox councils or Holy Fathers to verify your opinion.

I will produce quotes, in a due time, but not for you.

Swim away from me.

Exactly.

This thread makes too many false presumptions.

Orthodox aren’t part of such an alliance.
Who ever said they were? That is also not what this thread is about, so please take your “more Orthodox than Patriarch Bartholomew” attitude to a different thread.

That is not my attitude.

I don’t hold Bart as a criterion of Orthodoxy. Frankly, I don’t hold him Orthodox at all.
