I do understand… me, myself, and I just don’t like leggings! There…that is my opinion and those shoes are not my style! 😄

Remember all families have their quirks. Sometimes we have to roll with the punches.

I used to have ankle boots similar and wore them with jeans or trousers.

Yes, fetish footwear is when the line crosses to immodesty. These types of shoes were once only marketed to people in the sex industry but then they became popular in the mainstream. The trend to wear these shoes has been dying for a few years now, thank goodness.

Was she right in her assessment?
Something tells me there’s some thing more to her assessment.

Do the shoes make a loud clicking sound as you walk can they be heard? I am a proponent of quiet footwear at church ones that you can’t hear almost like slippers soft quiet slippers. How does your body move in these shoes? It might not be the shoes at all. it might be something something that only you know and she knows if you think about it?

I doubt the concern this mom had was noise but I agree that women’s high heel shoes can make a lot of noise on a marble floor and bring a great deal of attention to the wearer.

Movement is also a real factor…

In my teens and twenties (I am 35), peers referred to shoes with heels over 3 inches as “hooker heels”. I never heard booties referred to thus but I don’t know I ever saw ones that tall. Wearing 4+ inch heels just wasn’t something a respectable religious girl did…until they fell in love with a pair, bought it on a whim and got in a fight with their mom about it.

You are both adults. She can learn to accept your footwear and you can accept that they are going to annoy her until she does.

My mother recently said one of my black dresses was suggestive, when I got to church people thought I was a nun. Moms 🤷‍♀️

I’m not sure the noise is the problem. Men often wear leather soled dress shoes to church which make a lot of noise when walking. I’ve never heard of those being deemed immodest.

Just because private corporations produce a line of products that are colloquially called “fetish footwear”, does not mean this is correct. Look up the meaning of the term fetish to start with. Anything can be a fetish. Which translates, in case of shoes, that any type of shoe can be fetish footwear.

Ok, you’re just arguing to argue now. If the shoes are recognized by people as this and can be searched and found by this name, why are you arguing about semantics? That doesn’t make them go away. I’m not going round about this. I presented something that exists, showed the receipts, if you want to deny it because of semantics, go for it.

No, you are missing the point. Anything can be called a fetish, or be a fetish to someone. Them calling it a fetish is just a label. There is nothing that makes it so, and just because someone calls it that doesn’t mean everyone else feels that way or has to avoid wearing it.

Pretty please don’t assume to know my intentions.
I wanted to show that there is no such thing as fetish footwear, objectively speaking. This is a subjective matter entirely. Someone claiming that if a shoe have a certain general design it is “fetish footwear” is simply erroneous. No matter what the internets says. Ordinary sneakers can be as much fetish footwear as some 8 inch heels. Which means such labels are quite useless.

The only women’s shoes I can think of that would carry any sexual connotation would be these. They hardly look anything like what the OP wore.

My back hurts just looking at those!

I was still in my 20s when my chiropractor saw me in 1-inch heels and gave me a finger-wagging about it. She had a point, and I’ve only worn flats since then. Obviously, my personal choice has nothing to do with modesty considerations . . .

Really? What is the sexual connotation here? Ridiculous shoes have a sexual connotation? 🤨
