More than 80% of the child victims of priest sex abuse were male.
and 100% of the child victims were children.
Duh!

The point is there is a correlation between homosexuality and the abuse of children. If homosexuals are supposed to be in the vast minority, why is it that most victims are male? The actual reason is because that is the nature the homosexual disorder, an impaired ability to control the sexual urge.

It is false charity to allow a sexual deviant to be a priest. Priests need to be psychologically stable individuals, among other qualities.

Ok so it would then appear that the problem isn’t one of homoseuality but of child abuse

It has been my understanding that an act of child abuse is more concerned with power rather than a desire for men. In fact, children, especially younger ones, don’t really have noticble sexual characteristics, those don’t develop until puberty. Based on this I have always understood the problem of child abuse to much different - and proper diagnosis is needed if were are to solve this problem.

I have never heard that before. I understand the homosexual disorder to be a problem of who they desire, not how strongly they desire. Looking at just heterosexuals it is clear that some men are more sexually driven then others. I had always understood that sexual desires are governed by hormones.

I glanced at those studies and they appear to look at statistics and speak nothing of the psychology.

Do you have any Church documents? I would be more convinced by tradition then these studies.

I believe you should not eat meat on Fridays.
Nothing wrong with this as long as you don’t force it upon other people.
I believe there should not be altar girls.
That’s because it’s wrong, Sorry girls :o
I believe in Limbo.
The Church has no teaching on it. Believe it or don’t.
I believe you should pray the Rosary.
I pray it once a week.
I believe there should not be homosexual priests, nuns, or Catholic school teachers.
So does everyone else. I don’t think anyone would disagree with you.
I believe Freemasonry is some sort of religious cult (that possibly worships Lucifer) and no Catholic should be a part of it.
I personally know nothing about it.
I believe there should be a canon law that requires certain attire for Mass.
So do I.
I believe in Young Earth Creationism.
The Church has no teaching on this.
I don’t believe in cremation. I can’t stress the word “don’t” enough. I believe one should have a proper funeral and burial.
So do I.
I don’t believe in Natural Family Planning (NFP) or oral sex. The purpose of sex is pro-creation.
NFP is more realistic however. Either have a million children or use NFP. Either way it’s not contraception.
I don’t believe one should get tattoos.
“Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves.” (Leviticus 19:28)
I don’t believe one should engage in yoga.
It’s just stretching lol.
I prefer receiving the Eucharist on my tongue, not in the hand.
So do I.
I prefer anonymous confession, in a confessional, not in a reconciliation room.
Wait what? Are some parishes doing otherwise? heretics.
I recognize February 14th as Saint Valentine’s feast day.
So do I.
I feel there should be altar rails. (Not really a big deal)
Me too
So, are any of these heretical or are they completely valid views?
Not that I can see. On the contrary to not hold these beliefs would label one as a heretic.

The Church could issue new rules requiring all confessions be face-to-face, or in front of the congregation.

As a matter of fact, these are the normal practices in the Byzantine Churches; confessions are heard face-to-face before the iconostas.
Isn’t that heresy?

Boy, people sure like to throw out the word “heresy” a lot. Before anyone else tries to accuse someone of heresy, please look up what the word means. It is not just a matter of disagreeing with the Church. That is a problematic position, but it is not heresy. It is with good reason why this website discourages such casual accusations. Many people here obviously have no handle on the word.

Was that directed at me I assume. Your right I do have no handle on that word. In fact that’s probably my most used word, jk jk.

Yes I had noticed that as well, and behind it there is the same kind of insecurity that underlies biblical fundamentalism.

I shared with you the title of a book in one of my previous posts.
Here’s a book review I stole from amazon.com
“The Courage to be Chaste,” a book originally written for homosexual men desiring to live as chaste celibates, has come to be one of the premiere reads** for people who either wish to live as chaste celibates in today’s world, or simply wish to know more about the Catholic perspective on chaste celibacy.** **Written from his perspective as a Catholic psychiatrist, Fr. Groeschel thoroughly examines the topic **in just over 100 pages. He examines ways a chaste celibate can be an active member of the community, how chaste celibacy does not run contrary to human sexuality, and other topics that are often confused by people who wish to discount chaste celibacy as “psychologically unhealthy.”
I got this book a few years back. I am neither homosexual or male. It is a great resource for anyone living a celibate life. Fr. Groeschel is mighty in his orthodoxy, and wise in is psychology.

How is Heresy being “abused”? Is there a more PC way to address heresy?

Do you get a straitjacket when you become a Roman Catholic, because if you put so much as a comma out of place you will be a heretic?

huh?

Reread this thread (and others). I have never seen the word heresy tossed around so freely as it is on this site.

NFP is more realistic however. Either have a million children or use NFP. Either way it’s not contraception.
Contraception - Intentional prevention of conception or impregnation through the use of various devices, agents, drugs, sexual practices, or surgical procedures.

Natural family planning is considered “natural contraception”.

Under acronyms, it says contraception in parenthesis.

Yoga is a practice of Hinduism. If you follow the link below, there is a section in the article on why yoga is incompatible with Christianity.

Actually, the issue wasn’t pedophilia, as much as homosexual predation on teen boys.

The vast majority of victims were post-pubescent boys, not children. And, the vast majority of predators were homosexual.

Check out the John Jay report.

God Bless

I would say NFP is a form of birth control. Natural birth control, like NFP, total abstinance or breast feeding is allowed. It is not contraception b/c it does nothing to stop conception, except abstaining from sex. By that definition total abstinance would be contraception as well.

God Bless

You have made many assumptions in your post. Few of which are supportable by data. But this is WAY off topic. If you want to discuss this tired subject further, start a thread. However, I will not participate. It is just not possible to have a sensible discussion with with willfully blind.

Homosexuality is a very serious disorder which often leads to all sorts of destructive behavior in the individuals who have it. To deny this is to imperil the most vulnerable.
