Numbers are used. It is natural language. Some say its the key to the universe. I dont know. But i definetly agree that numbers are significant, But in what sense? What are the numbers trying to tell us? The number twelve, shows alot in the bible. Twelve apostles, Twelve tribes of isreal, twelve gates, yes i see there is a mathmatical element to the reality of revelation. But what does it mean?
I watched a fictional film once about this really intelligent mathmatition with some sort of metal disorder. He kept on finding mathmatical patterns in nature, which he percieved as spirals, but the more he kept on challenging the fought, the more insain he Got. Then some jewish people from the judaist religion saw his work, and fought that he could unlock and find the name of God in his mathmatical workings. If they could achieve this, they would be let back in to heaven. Gods name was supposed to be so many letters long, something like 234, im not sure.
Anyway, the goverment are also looking for this guy, who eventually goes M.I.A… He goes to see a freind who had a stroke, doing the same work that he did. When he goes to his freinds house, he finds out that he died from a stroke, and finds spirals everywhere from his work.
The man eventually cracks the code, but the code cracks him and drives him mad. The judaists drag him in to a house, and try to get the name of God from him, but he refuses. They try to tell him if he keeps it in his head, it will kill him, because the message is for them so that they can get back the key to heaven, but he still refuses.
In the end he goes mad, and drives a compact drill in to the side of his head to stop the noise.
I think the moral of the story is, There are some things in life that we can never understand, and when we try to, sometimes we can go mad, Which i almost did.
I used to spend ages trying to understand God, i was trying to comprehend his eternal existence, i use to try and go beyond the universe in my head and try to comprehend things that where not comprehendable, i use to try and figure out what existence actually is, i mean i know that its God, but what is existence made of? why is it? Why is God? What is space? and when there was no space what was it, what was there in its place? What is nothingness, does such a thing as Nothingness really exist. To try and comprehend eternity with out being Born is a brain buster!.
God seems to let only a select few know the really complicated stuff, while the rest just have the job of living a humble Christian life.
