You’re the one making the claim. It’s up to you to support it. Defending it by saying @mrsdizzyd can’t say you’re wrong isn’t a defense at all.And there is no way, you can know that what I have said is not true…
Of course, and that being the case, in all charity shouldn’t we give the church the benefit of the doubt? And there is no way, you can know that what I have said is not true…

Technically, yes. But the phrase has more than one sense. It is not merely about sex, but it also speaks to the oneness of the bond formed when one man and one woman decide to join together in matrimony.Technically, one flesh refers to the sexual act.
Respectfully, I doubt you do considering your view of annulment appears to involve destroying the marriage bond.Too bad we cannot ask Jesus about annulment.
But I have a pretty good idea what he would say.
Kind of like when the Pharisees asked him about divorce.
Annulment sounds like something a lawyer would say as a loophole.
If it’s a canon lawyer, I hope he/she wouldn’t say the word, period.Annulment sounds like something a lawyer would say as a loophole.
I don’t doubt what you say, in theory, but what kind of “statements, behaviors, beliefs, indications” would qualify as proof, and how would you document it, to the satisfaction of a tribunal? That is really not something you could prove.
Or something similar to that? And what level of proof would be needed?
- One of the spouses was having a secret affair with someone else before and after the wedding day?
- One of the spouses went around telling family and friends “I don’t know if I should do this” in the days before the wedding?
- One or both of them said after the wedding “I think we made a terrible mistake”?
Might I recommend you contact your archdiocese canon law lawyers regarding this question? I bet you’ll receive the answer you’re looking for. What do the Saints and doctors of the Church say and teach about invalid marriages and Church decrees of nulity?
