God bless you also.GE. I find it amazing how the whole world focus’s on the affairs of a tiny bit of real estate. Like a stumbling block…I just watch, pray and trust the Lord for each day…Living close to Him with my lamp trimmed and filled…peace to you

I’ll reiterate my post # 12 where I referenced "The Catholic Knight"s clear thinking:
The Church, particularly the Catholic Church, is Israel. There is no other Israel today, in a Biblical sense, than the Church. The Church is also Zion. There is no other Zion, in a spiritual sense, than the Church. The Church is also the New Jerusalem. There is no other “Jerusalem,” in a spiritual sense than the Church. This is a fundamental teaching of the New Testament. Without this understanding, everything becomes convoluted.

The mere existence of the state of Israel is not at all necessary for the return of our Lord.

The existence of the state of Israel offends orthodox Jews more than anyone. If you are curious about this sort of thing read the writing of Orthodox Jews on this matter; they are vehemently opposed to Israel existing in the first place. Although I can see the state of Israel fulfilling part of Biblical prophecy as a means to get the Jewish temple rebuilt again, where the antichrist will claim to be God.

Yes,but still does not mean we will know the year,month and day as many claim and predict. Jesus still never says once he knows the day,but be prepared.
 
Why are there people saying “yes, it’s going to happen in our lifetimes” or “no, that’s going to be years from now”? Come on everyone! We don’t know! No one knows!

I don’t think we should ever be fearful as long as we have Jesus in our hearts. Fear is not of God and this will take away from our mission to help others to come to Christ. We need to, now more than ever, be aware of the people around us who are searching for answers. We need to help as many as possible. If we are too busy worrying about the time and day we can’t focus on what God really wants from us.

Indeed!

Such a massive catastrophe may be one of the preliminaries to the return of Our Lord, but it seems difficult to imagine that He would be very pleased with those responsible for the death and destruction that precipitated this eventuality. In fact, I wonder whether the elimination of Damascus might symbolise the fact that we have deteriorated to the point at which God feels that He is forced to intervene directly in human affairs.😦
