Are We Still Praying For the Conversion of Russia?

A number of devotional prayers I say contain the phrase, “…and for the conversion of Russia.” Then, of course, there are the Leonine prayers after Mass said for the conversion of Russia. I know there are conspiracy theories that Russia was never properly consecrated, but are we still, as a Church, praying specifically for “the conversion of Russia?”

There’s a specific prayer in the Orthodox prayer book for Russia.
 
I have not heard of any prayers for Russia in any church for many years but I continue to pray for the conversion of Russia especially after reading the facts that Prostitution,Abortion and Alcoholism are rampant there at present,not only this but the Catholic church is still persecuted in Russia but you rarely hear about this anymore due to detente!

With every Rosary. I belong to an association of Catholics called Operation54, which refers to 54 day novenas that are prayed several times a year. One of the intentions is for the Concecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as requested by Our Lady of Fatima.
 
Are We still Praying for Russia to be Consecrated to the Imaculate Heart of Mary?? From 1960 all Popes ,Cardinals,bishops have been flooded with every type of mail but to No Avail. The Church being an Hierarchy keeps the Laity Voiceless and Ignorant. Communication between the Pope and his bishops with the Laity is non- existant. The Pope recieves three million letters per year, so forget him, Cardinals,bishops Might answer their mail BUT its according to the Correspondant? WHY doesn’t the Pope and his bishops do what was asked of them?? Some More WHYS? WHY doesn’t the Pope and his bishops Cut off the Diseased Sheep fropm the Flock? WHY Doesn’t the Pope and his bishops Remove evil from Roman Catholicism??Here is an Important WHY?wHY Doesn’t the Pope and his bishops OBEY Canon Law # 912 # 915 $ 1329 #1398 And Follow Church Doctrine by Excommunicating all bishops,priests,Polititions,and laity who AID,ABET and Counsel abortion ,and\or homosexuality?? IF the leaders did what Jesus and the Apostles wanted them to do, We would have our Church back .!

NEVER FORGET THE POPE. Tu es Petrus, Benedictus. We pray for the Holy Father. We do not forget him. The organizers of a lay organization I belong to which right now is in the second week of a 54 day Novena has as one of the intentions the commending to the Immaculate Heart of Mary all Graces necessary for His Holiness, our Supreme Pontiff and Holy Father.

After the last 54 day Novena a Spiritual bouquet was sent by letter to His Holiness to which he promptly responded and delivered his Apostolic Blessing. Do not forget the Holy Father. HE DOES NOT FORGET YOU.

For those who may not understand the issue.

Our BVM at Fatima specifically requested thatb the Holy Father dedicate Russia to “MY” [Her Paternal care].

Pope John Paul II dedicated the “entire world” to the care and protection of the BVM; but did not single our Russia in particular.

So the question appears open to debate as to “the whole world” surfices and completes the very specific requst of our BVM? 🤷

Despite both Popes JP Ii and Benedict XVI saying it does fulfill the “reguest”, the promises of such fulfillment have not taken place.

Those who feel that the request MUST be fulfilled as precisely requested point to this fact as evidence that it has “not been fulfilled.”

" It has been more than twenty years since the consecration of the world, but not Russia, by the Pope and some bishops on March 25, 1984. Since that ceremony took place there has been no sign of the conversion of Russia, the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the period of world peace Our Lady promised if the Consecration of Russia were carried out according to Her request at Fatima."

We’ve come full circle, the Russian Catholics need to pray for the US now.
 
The conversion of Russia has been done already, in the context of what was asked at Fatima. Catholics get too hung up on the word conversion - they think it means conversion to Catholicism (possibly one of Fr. Gruner’s problems). In the context used, Blessed Mary meant conversion from official atheism back to God. The word conversion in a religious context means “a turning back to God”, and this is what was meant, since it was given circa the time when Christian Russia became officially atheist and thereby Russia began a time of trying by force of arms to spread atheism throughout the world (spreading of her errors). Russia is no longer trying to spread atheism, since the consecration requested at Fatima has been done.

Now, we are supposed to be praying for the “conversion” or “turning back to God” of unbelievers, especially Christians caught up in the current Apostasy. And we are supposed to pray for our fellow Christians and also for ourselves, too.

Beehumble, may I ask you for substantiation for your very first sentnce which states that the concecration was done “in the context of Our Lady’s request?”
 
Prayers for the conversion of Russia are still said in church in a few rosary groups I pray with before or after the TLM, also, I believe EWTN may still have the prayers for the conversion of Russia during the 2pm Central rosary.

the pope is the Supreme Pontiff. one does not forget the Vicar of Christ. while we may pray indeed for the conversion of countries, the consecration of Russia was done according to the will of God. Sister Lucia said “heaven has accepted it”. as far iam concerned the laity in the Church is not voiceless and ignorant. the Holy Father has a lot to do taking care of 1 billion flock members. please don’t forget that.

And how do you know the will of God. Because it was not done the way the Mother of God requested.
