Should being a klan leader disqualify one from being a priest, even with repentance?
Not necessarily. But paying reparations as court ordered, in indicative of true repentence. He clearly did not reveal his character and legal status to his ordaining bishop or diocese

Not that I know of, do you know?
You said my party were mostly running the KKK, as far as aware, no Catholic party exists in the USA nor runs the KKK. Please withdraw your political driven nonpost-related accusation.

You please withdraw your smear of a priest.

To be fair, public remorse. He may well have been remorseful well before this point. We just don’t know one way or another.
Also, if he went public with it before it may have served no purpose due to the weakness of those who would not forgive.

The priest has no need of 3rd party armchair defenders. And still owes Court ordered penalties.

I have already noted that this was prior to his Catholic reversion, but this still does not explain the lack of fulfilling his criminal rehabilitation/obligation.

I am curious which post YOU noted such a thing?

Sounds like you are describing Paul.
The Holy Apostle Paul was converted directly by the Lord, and moved by the Spirit’s call, went to those he threatened and was blessed (Apostles Sts. Peter, James, John) as one of their own. Has the priest in question ever gone to this black CATHOLIC family and done the same? Has his life’s work since been to heal racial division and destroy the evil he has perpetuated in his ‘past life’, as St. PAUL?

You certainly noted no such thing, that it was prior to his conversion.
Another poster did, I agreed ans questioned why he did not pay the Court ordered reparations. If its not clesr, I AGREE it was prior to his reversion, however he left out critical details to his diocese and bishop for years while in Seminary, until ordination, his transfer back to Arlington, until this week. The obligation to pay is still unfulfilled.

The title of this post is “Arlington priest outted as KKK Klan LEADER”

What was the purpose of “leader” being all capitalized and failure to mention that it was his past?
Should a repentant genocidal maniac be disqualified from priesthood? Probably.
And by what authority do you make this determination?

A politician, sheriff, sure. A priest?

Fanning the flames of racial divide and encouraging vindictive attitude are not beneficial for any party involved.

I can certainly see this as a legitimate news story- especially with recent events in Charlottesville.

The priest’s statement does seem genuine and his past perhaps places him in a unique position to fight against the plague of racism.
