Hope they are able to bring peaceful order to the city of Louisville.

if people are talking of minorities in that way on a constant basis in the US or characterizing shooting them down as a sport then it is little wonder your nation is dissolving.
The myth of “antifa” and of an organised left-wing insurrection helps them overcome this in their minds. I don’t think many of these people view the recent riots as a product of a genuinely disaffected minority group but instead an armed insurrection normally paid for by some anti-Semitic bogeyman like George Soros or maybe some jingoist favourite like China.

The nation is not going to dissolve and I don’t think you know what a clay pigeon is.

If someone is going to throw a brick at someone else’s head, isn’t that “assault with a deadly weapon?”

Fair enough, but we’ve had mayors telling the police to “stand down” And let the rioters to do what they want. At some point, when the government won’t protect the people, the people will protect themselves. What is happening now should not come as a surprise.

This is a sad state of affairs.

. . . . We have these young people exercising their right to protest. But they don’t have a clue why they have that right.

The flags they are tearing down represent what gives them the right to protest. The flag flies because men have died throughout our history to keep it flying. To keep these protesters’ rights to assemble intact.

. . . . We have veterans with PTSD who can’t sleep because of never-ending fireworks and live gunfire for weeks now. Elderly neighbors so scared they won’t even open their door to get their mail out of the mailbox. Punks rear ending vehicles and then carjacking those vehicles. Small children getting shot… not just one, several.

Ambulances can’t get to the ER’s because of protesters blocking the streets. Last week several people were shot on the west side at a huge private club. EMS were slowed considerably because they couldn’t get through to the victims. Fortunately none of the victims died.

These protesters have a right to be upset. I get it. Some cops become cops for the wrong reasons. Some of them have no business being anywhere near a gun let alone a badge. But so many of these protesters let there emotions get in the way of their common sense. They let themselves be manipulated by antifa and the like. They keep so many LE personel occupied that there aren’t enough LE to respond to the increase in crime in areas outside of where the protesters gather.

The police need help and if spineless mayors and governors won’t give it to them, good men will.

The person who organized this is a member of the National Guard.

I have seen many of these videos about the protests. Seems there are plenty of white people involved in all the destruction. So I don’t think the OP was talking racism just that all the people destroying things need to stop. I would agree that if someone throws a brick through a window they shouldn’t be killed for that offense. Most would agree with that.

At some point, when the government won’t protect the people, the people will protect themselves.
This is the point where people start counting heads.

I live overseas in a place where there are quite a few current and ex military and they very much don’t like what’s happening at the moment. They see it as disrespecting and destroying the country and politicians letting it happen

These guys have the experience and knowledge to take control and enough contacts to make a difference if things go south.

I am not sure people are factoring in the great number of these people and their resolve, nor the bad will that is building up with current policies of submission and the focus on politicking against the president…

I read it as they would shoot the bricks like clay pigeons. Not sure if you know, but shooting clay pigeons is quite a sport in some parts of the US.

This is an extreme response to the extremism/marxism we have seen in the past few weeks.

Unfortunately our politicians have let the leftist extremists have their way too long and are triggering this backlash.

I think most Americans wish for peace. The leftists should go back to moms basement, the right wingers should go back to work, the police need to reform their tactics, and the courts need to hold them responsible.

But the leftists continue their attack on America, and that will bring about more right-wing extremism. If this continues down this path, then Americans will have to choose between the two.

“On the morning of June 27, armed freedom fighter patriots will march upon Louisville Kentucky to restore order,” the original post reads. “These Patriotic Americans will remain peaceful unless they find it necessary to defend themselves from opposition.”

This is appalling.

They are going into Louisville to provoke protesters to attack them, and then they say it’s self defense when they shoot the protesters.

Courts have ruled that concealed carry holders who purposely provoke fights are not protected by the law. This is similar.

Here’s what the police say:
Mayor Greg Fischer also responded to the posts in [a tweet Thursday afternoon]

“We are aware of rumors suggesting that armed militia are coming to downtown Louisville this weekend,” the tweet says. “Our message is simple: We don’t need you here. Our focus is on facilitating peaceful protests.”

Just as appalling as the Marxist protestors of the past few weeks.

Just like the Marxists who rioted to provoke the police, but then cry police brutality.

But they are not going there to provoke, but to protest.

Thats not the PDs job. If they didtheir job of enforcing the law then there wouldnt be counterprotestors.

Okay, Im trying to think about what my mother said about two wrongs not making something. Thinking…
Just like the Marxists who rioted to provoke the police, but then cry police brutality.
DON’T MAKE A RIGHT! That’s it!
But they are not going there to provoke, but to protest.
Well, the presence of weapons and the stated goal to “restore order” is a provocation in itself.

Lawful protest is allowed. Unlawful protests should be dealt with through the legal system. These gun nut Cosplay wannabes can’t do that. What CAN they do that would end well?

This is appalling.
Not exactly. Peacefully protesting is not appalling. There are several appalling actions that led to this, and I hope you would agree all of them were appalling.
  1. Instead of peaceful protests in the wake of the appalling death of George Floyd, there was appalling rioting and looting.
  2. Incompetent mayors appallingly had let rioters and looters do violence, telling the police forces they command to “stand down.” Here is a 911 dispatcher that appallingly told a lady whose car was being attacked that there is nothing that can be done to help her, and to call city hall to voice her displeasure
‘We can’t do anything’ 911 says to caller trapped in Virginia protests with baby in car
  3. Those going to peacefully march in Louisville might be appallingly attacked by people emboldened by fact so many city “leaders” across the US have been so incompetent.
This uproar over the armed protesters reminds me of the uproar over the Michigan protesters. Everyone was crying over their lawful carrying of arms. Which protest was peaceful? That one. The Alamo also had protests, but there were armed volunteers there too…guess what…that was peaceful too.

People getting ready to throw bricks apparently think twice when their target is carrying a gun.

Again, all of this mess, is due to incompetent city leaders not willing to protect their citizens. You should direct your indignation at those people.

I’m a little concerned that this is still vigilantism as his simply being a member of the guard (if that’s true - we’re just relying on his word here) doesn’t mean he’s following orders from his superior officers in the guard.

People have a fundamental right to protect their property but it seems to me there’s a distinction between that and having a self-appointed militia show up to take matters into their own hands.

I mean, if these guys can do it why can’t some members of Black Lives Matter or some other left-wing group form armed patrols? Would you be comfortable with that? What if two opposing militias clash using arms?

What should we do when unlawful protestors are not dealt with through the legal system?
OH, yeah, you’re right. I missed that.

People should put their best costumes on and get them guns and go shoot people.
