Hello, this is my very first post here, so if I mess up, please forgive me. Now with that being said, I have some questions, and hopefully I can get some others views on this. I have some things I need to ask and maybe discuss, so I’m doing my very best to keep this on topic with this sub=forum, please understand that.

I’m researching Roman Catholicism, so that I can become knowledgeable on the subject, so that is why I joined. I have other questions I need to ask, but I decided I’d make this thread, since I lurked here before, and noticed a lot of, “Ask a __ anything” threads. I’m also a little bored and lonely with nothing to do at the moment, so I wanna interact a little bit with some people, so ask anything that you would like to ask, and I will answer it to the best of my power.

Thanks.

Sorry but you are a self described pagan with no beliefs? What in the world could we ask?

I sounds like you’re trying to believe something, and you couldn’t find better research to start with the The Catholic church!

Hey Joe 😊 I’m really interested in neo-paganism. Do you have gods or spirits you worship personally? Or is it more a spiritualism? What do you think about modern pagan groups like Asatru?

I mainly want to learn about it because I have a lot of family history in the British Isles. And they most likely practices and had this faith, so that is my biggest reason.

Hi there 🙂 Well, I personally believe that there is a God for everything on Earth and for matters in the spiritual world, all keeping each other in check, and each following an order. I do not believe one supreme deity, rather that all that exists is ‘God’, and ‘God’ is made up of these separate orders, that govern all the planes of existence, and all of the earth. I’m not sure if I personally worship any certain gods, yet, but I’m still figuring out what I believe in.

Ah, so a bit similar to the Hindu brahma? An ever present divinity that has different faces for different earthly aspects?

Yes, I’m trying to believe something. And that’s for your comment, nice to meet you, margaret42, how are you doing?

Kind of, only thing different is that I believe there is an order of gods for a everything, such as the following: a god of life, a god of death, a god of existence, a god of the future and a god of the past, a god of the sea, a god of the rain, a god of fire, of water, of air, of earth, and so on…more than I can count. And this applies to all aspects of any plane and that of the spirit world.

Catholicism teaches that man is, both by very nature and vocation, a religious being. It is who and what we are. Our trouble occurs when we resist or deny this. As Saint Augustine of Hippo famously wrote: “Our hearts are restless Lord, until they rest in You.”

You are blessed to investigate Catholicism, as once outside of Catholicism, Christianity becomes very confusing and only leads one to look to trendy, man-made religions.

Are you making it up as you go, or are you getting this from some formal teaching of a certain group? It reminds me of the ancient Romans/Greeks.

What is the exact definition of “god” in your religious beliefs? A spirit? An impersonal force? A demiurge?

Hi Joe, rather than us reinventing the wheel, may I ask if you have ever read the book “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis? It’s an amazing book that would probably help you to some degree.

I believe that a god is a supernatural type of human-like, not a human, but human like, being that has control over a designated force. And that that applies to every, if there are any other, universes where the same force to apply to said universe.

Hi, I’ll look into that, definitely. Thanks! I know some other C.S. Lewis stuff, but not that, anyhow, I’ll look into that

what sort of paganism do you believe in?

the old roman false gods, jupiter, athena, mercury , mars? or neo-modern tree worship?

i am not making fun

these beliefs were abandoned because they are nonsense

come home to Mother Catholic Church

there are many ways to gain faith & fellowship in the Catholic Church

No, I do not believe that they are created beings. I believe that they existed forever. Anything that is natural never lasts forever, but anything supernatural lasts forever in my beliefs.
