There are 2 LDS discussion sites with similar names, Mormondialogue which tolerates no bad language at all and is heavily moderated in favor of LDS posters. Then there is Mormondiscussions which on most boards doesn’t “print” bad language but substitutes characters it is very lightly moderated.

I posted on Mormondialogue, definitely no bad language there, would not promote the required image, but on the other hand, they are probably decent people who don’t descend to that level anyway.
 
yeah…I think I was talking about Mormon Discussions where the language was so bad.

My next question would be:
Since LDS do not believe in any eternal (no beginning & no end) beings, (premortal,mortal or divine) - only etermal matter (spirit and material) and something called “intelligence” - how do they teach the origin of the very first “Supreme Being/God” – that is, how did the very first supreme being ever to exist ANYWHERE come about?

good question.

I had the discussion with a Mormon once. He said he simply could not fathom, and could not believe in a God that had no beginning. I asked him why that was harder to believe in the unending line of gods the LDS Church believes in and where did the very first one come from? He had no answer.

Amazing that believing in eternal matter would be no problem for him, but believing in an eternal God would.

Does that mean that essentially Mormons do not, and/or will not, teach anything about what existed or took place prior to “this universe where God the Father is the Supreme Being”? (Except of course that there is eternal matter.)

They did not when I was LDS, and I have not seen anything in what I have read that has changed.

Just like they do not teach about Heavenly Mother…God’s wife.

I wonder if they have ever pondered how close their teaching that “a man can become a god” is to the serpent’s words in the Garden of Eden: Gen 3:5 “…you will be like God knowing good and evil…”

I have brought that point up to many an LDS believer…
 
I have a question for Erin that I just thought of. The lds believe that dark skinned men are cursed because they are the seed of Cain. We all know Jesus was not white but of a darker skin. So how does that fit in to your beliefs Erin when the Saviour has dark skin? Is Jesus cursed too?

According to the lds website below, in 1978 the president received a new revelation.
Quote: “The revelation removed all restrictions with regard to race that once applied to the priesthood.”

yes…2 things caused this:
  1. The fact that what Joseph prophesied…that blacks would become white…did not happen
  2. Schools were refusing to play BYU because of its racism. Athletics is biggest money-maker in colleges. The LDS Church could not risk that kind of money. So, the church needed a revelation.

If smith was a true prophet of the Lord his prophecy would have been true. Another lie from a liar. How about all the Native Americans that didnt become white? Thats enough proof for me that the lds religion is false when their prophet cant get it right.

the two biggest revelations sine Joe died were the polygamy and the blacks holding the priesthood revelations. Both were made based on financial reasons.

The LDS God is not very strong and makes his decisions based on money.

That is sad.
