When you said Loki the first thing I thought of was AvengersThe God I’m closest to is Loki.
I think he is Aesir (the Norse Gods) because he is the blood brother of Odin. I say “I think” because Loki is a figure of dispute in Asatru and I don’t know if Skadi and Gullveig agree with me.

What led me to him? The film Avengers much to my embarrassment. HOWEVER, it made things harder rather than easier. I was like being erm… attracted to Jesus to put it in perspective. Marvel!Loki is very different from the God. He behaves more like a father figure towards me for starters.
How do I worship the Gods? The best I can given the constraint that my parents FORBID it. I really can only light digital candles, leave a portion of my meal for them, and pray to them.
For feast days go to worship.
If I recall correctly Loki is the brother of Thor and he is a very mischievous god. What’s a no? I have to say that I am dismayed that you “think” Loki is the brother of Thor but you don’t know for sure. No offense, but the fact that the movie Avengers had a role in the god you worship leads me to the conclusion that you’re confused, lost, full of doubt, and going through an identity crisis phase like all teenagers do. We all are led astray and then the Shepard guides us back. Speaking from personal experience, I have a feeling that as you get older, you will be drawn back to Catholicism. I was. And let me tell you, there was a phase of my life were I wanted nothing to do with God. But in his mercy and loving kindness He has guided me back to the fold.

But, yeah, actually, it does. You’re 17, maybe 18 tops, right? Well, you’re bright, articulate, and you’ve done a bit of reading in some esoteric areas of interest. But you don’t have a clue as to what you’re talking about because for you, this is all in your head. You haven’t really experienced enough of life (or read deeply enough) to take on the collective wisdom and knowledge of the finest intellects the world has known over the past 2,000 years and declare them wrong.
You know what’s weird? My son, who is a little older than you, enjoys playing Magic and D&D, etc. I asked him to read through some of this thread, and he said, “Dad, they’re just trolling you. This is part of some extended game they’re playing.”
I didn’t believe him. I wanted to be respectful and to give you and Skadi the benefit of the doubt about your faith, etc., but now I have to give him credit. He called it.
Oh, I’m sure you are very serious about your gods, but be warned: the spirit world is nothing to play with, and you are in way over your head.

If you were not Christian and were drawn to Jesus by the show Godspell, it would be perfectly valid as long as you didn’t use the script to the play as your holy text. Speaking of which I’m ever so slowly working through the Poetic Edda. I do research constantly I assure you of that.
Its a no to celebrating any feast days because I don’t have the freedom to do so.
Edit: To clarify Thor and Loki being brothers is pretty much a Marvel thing. There may be like one specific tradition where they are but my memory fails me.

Nope! He is a Jotun (giant) and what’s more Laufey is not the big blue guy in the movie. Laufey is not a guy at all, she’s Loki’s MOTHER. Marvel took liberties in many places.

Adherents of other religions do not need nor could not possibly care whether they have respect from someone who is ignorant to ways other than his own and acts so hostile and delusively arrogant. Suffice to say people like you are why there is so much religious strife in the world. You’re not acting from faith, you’re using faith as an excuse to be conceited and myopic while deliberately antagonizing and denigrating others.
If this your idea of being in possession of religious truth, it’s not doing much to sway others to (re-)consider your religion for them to enter. It certainly does not express the concern Christians have for others and their souls, but it is an example of just how nasty and ugly and spiteful some people are, regardless of what they profess spiritually.
As several other Christians on this board have demonstrated, being condescending and hate filled is not an essential part of having differing views, and it does nothing to encourage others to learn more about Christianity, much less show that you’re “right”.

Since joining the forum five months ago, you’ve posted in 3-4 threads - all of them related to paganism and all of them giving you the opportunity to share what you believe with others.
Funny, I don’t see you asking too many questions about what it is that Catholics actually believe about the Virgin Birth of Jesus or why it was necessary for God to become a man and die upon a cross for the sins of the world, etc. If you WERE seeking to “learn more about Christianity”, many of us would be more than happy to answer your questions quite charitably.
But that’s not really why you’re here, is it? :nope:
No one here is "hate filled’, so don’t try to silence us by making us feel guilty about speaking plainly.

Why are you surprised? Firstly, I’m quite familiar with Catholicism. Secondly, I’m interested in various beliefs. Listening to adherents discuss their religion does not necessitate chiming in as well in order to learn. In fact there are a few people who would do well to yap less and listen more. If I had a question that somehow had never been asked before, I would ask it. However** there is this very clever and nifty feature called “Search” on the forum that produces a wealth of pre-existing information**. As you might have noticed, this board is extensive and a wide range of questions have been discussed, multiple times. Try it sometime.
So, you (not ‘you’ personally per se) have already answered various questions, by me taking the time to read.
So keep your snarky small minded assumptions to yourself, though you just supported my previous comment so thanks.
