No it wouldn’t. Arab Christians also use “Allah”. Don’t fall into the Muslim trap of thinking of “Allah” as a proper name. This is an Islamic claim only, not shared by the non-Muslim Arabs.
This was not intended for you personally; it just seemed to fit what you were saying. Why would I call God Allah? I find that offensive frankly. That would mean I am Muslim and I would never turn my back on Jesus Christ.
P.S. In post #105, you said, “The Koran says in 4:157, that God causes someone who looked like Jesus to die on the cross in his place…”Why would I call God Allah? I find that offensive frankly. That would mean I am Muslim and I would never turn my back on Jesus Christ.
Point taken! Pity nobody has an answer.P.S. In post #105, you said, “The Koran says in 4:157, that God causes someone who looked like Jesus to die on the cross in his place…”
While you didn’t call God Allah, you used “God” to mean “Allah”. Same difference.
That’s because most people want to show their goodness, niceness, tolerance, non-judgementalism, and acceptance. But as we have seen in recent years, once tolerance becomes the measure of morality instead of actions judged against a moral truth, we must tolerate the presence of evil itself.Pity nobody has an answer.
The thread is entitled “About about Islam”. I did ask about Islam and they haven’t replied. The questions are fair aren’t they? That’s because most people want to show their goodness, niceness, tolerance, non-judgementalism, and acceptance. But as we have seen in recent years, once tolerance becomes the measure of morality instead of actions judged against a moral truth, we must tolerate the presence of evil itself.
I have yet to encounter an unfair question about Islam. The questions are fair aren’t they?
Hi Parabol…Well you shouldn’t =]
What’s your view of using the name Yahweh?
Indeed although the question was aimed at CatholicRevert I’d like to open the question to Muslims, is Yahweh as the name of God incorrect or is there another reason it should not be used?Hi Parabol…
Just a suggestion.
Perhaps a new thread would be appropriate for your new inquiry and let’s keep this for “ask about Islam”…
Thanks and many blessings,

In Quran , Allah is used to described our Lord / Creator . I don’t know of using Yahweh in Quran or Hadith.… is Yahweh as the name of God
as Yahweh is not used in Quran & it’s not commonly used by Muslims , I personally won’t prefer to use it.incorrect or is there another reason it should not be used?
Islam prohibits anything that is evil. Alcohol , pork , gambling , lottery , free mixing etc are forbidden for Muslims because these are harmful. Some scholars say smoking is haram/ forbidden. In short , anything good is allowed , opposite is forbidden.what does Islam teach about self-harm?
Where do you get the idea that king Salomon or even king David were prophets?http://theislampath.com/smf/Smileys/default/salam.gif

The Story of Prophet Solomon
By Idris Tawfiq
King Solomon (known as Prophet Suleiman to Muslims) is revered as a prophet by Christians, Muslims, and Jews. This alone should make him worthy of our attention, that the world’s great “Abrahamic Faiths” have yet another focal point of shared belief.

You need to ask them to define “prophet” first. I suspect it means something different to Muslims.Where do you get the idea that king Salomon or even king David were prophets?
couldn’t we say the same thing about our religion? How could Muslims prove the authenticity of Quran?
Was Mohammed really illiterate?
Are you in the position that we Catholics cannot prove the authenticity of the Bible?couldn’t we say the same thing about our religion?
Its called faith.
The central belief that he is god’s son, Heaven and Hell, and most of theological beliefs the church has- cannot be scientifically proved and therefore have to be relied entirely on our faith. Are you in the position that we Catholics cannot prove the authenticity of the Bible?
There is some reason to believe that Mohammad was illiterate [meaning he couldn’t read or write]. islam-watch.org/SujitDas/Holy-Islam-Illiteracy-Poverty-Backwardness.htmcouldn’t we say the same thing about our religion?
Its called faith.
