What was the reason for Jesus being crucified?
I know Islam teaches He was not actually crucified, but what does the Quran say about why He was condemned to crucifixion?
Where is the Quran’s proof of Jesus being the Messiah? (Besides simply saying He is the Messiah.)
Why did The God spend so much time preparing for the Messiah just for Jesus’ time on earth to have been supposedly “misinterpreted” by all of His followers?

A few questions:

What was the reason for Jesus being crucified?

I know Islam teaches He was not actually crucified, but what does the Quran say about why He was condemned to crucifixion?

Where is the Quran’s proof of Jesus being the Messiah? (Besides simply saying He is the Messiah.)

Why did The God spend so much time preparing for the Messiah just for Jesus’ time on earth to have been supposedly “misinterpreted” by all of His followers?

Why, if The God would not let one of His prophets suffer such a death as crucifixion, why did every other prophet from the past die?

Why was Jesus so important to be the only one raised to Heaven?

Since Jesus is so important, why are His teachings not more important than Mohammad’s?
tGette, i know the Muslims have avoided answering your questions TWICE. I was eagerly waiting for a response as you have - looks like another one of their diversion tactics. It’s really disappointing.😦

I have a question. Why do some Muslims look to the Holy Bible for evidence to prove the Quran’s claims if it is also the Quran’s teaching that the Bible is corrupt? This seems nonsensical to me.

Also, if the Qur’an is meant to restore or correct the errors found in the other books thanks to Jews’ or Christians’ “corruptions” of them, why does the Qur’an not represent the teachings of those faiths as they are found in those books? For instance, the Christian idea of the Trinity. It is not found in the Qur’an. Instead we find a trinity composed of God the Father, Jesus, and Mary. Why would God, in His eternal and uncreated Qur’an, sent down to be the final seal on all the teachings of the prophets, incorrectly state THE CENTRAL THEOLOGICAL IDEA OF CHRISTIANITY (sorry to yell, but it’s impossible to over-emphasize how important this is) in His refutation of it? It does not make sense. It is limiting God in a way that I think all three faiths would agree He cannot be limited. So why are there inaccuracies about the other faiths that the Qur’an is supposed to correct? Did God in the Islamic tradition make man out of straw? 😛

Thanks meedo for explaining it. By the way, I don’t think catholic priests damn anyone or send anyone to hell. But, I think I understand what you are saying. I am glad the muslims in Sweden are not having to follow the letter of the law but the spirit and intent.👍

…in the summer there because the sun sometimes never completely sets!!! .
I read about fasting in poles like that : as sun does not set in months ; so Muslims ( if any ) will follow either his/her country time or the time of the nearest place .

There is a verse in Quran that says ( not the exact words ) if anyone does not have intention to disobey God or rebel against Him but has no choice & then break any rule ,there is no sin. Most probably , this verse came when some Muslims were forced to eat pork & took alcohol in Macca when non Muslims threatned to kill them .

So , when one is sick , old , pregnant , while in tranvelling or in an abnormal situation like staying in poles —fasting is not a must for them . They can make up the missing fasts later or sick person can feed poor people .

Only God Knows Best.

Hello Muslim Woman,

What do muslims think about Mary?
Do u know there is a chapter in Quran titled Mary/ Mariam ?

U may read chapter no 19. Also see my signature 🙂

Many Muslims name their girl’s name as Mariam .

verse from Quran :

"Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.

She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them. Then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.

She said, ‘I seek refuge from you to God Most Gracious! Do not come near me, if you fear God!’ He said, ‘No, I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a holy son.’

She said, ‘How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?’ He said, 'So (it will be).

Your Lord says, ‘That is easy for Me, and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men, and a Mercy from Us. It is a matter (so) decreed’"

(19:16-21, the Chapter of Mary)

more verses from other chapters :

"And (remember) **she who guarded her chastity. **

We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples

(21:91).

…And Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity. And We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit.

She testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants)"

(66:12).

"Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him.

His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food.

See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" (5:75).

It’s a must for us to respect Mother Mary & Jesus ( peace be upon them ) . But we don’t worship them as it’s not allowed to worship any human being .

… Why do some Muslims look to the Holy Bible for evidence to prove the Quran’s claims if it is also the Quran’s teaching that the Bible is corrupt? This seems nonsensical to me.
Muslims beleive Bible came from God Almighty. Though it’s corrupted now , still it has some verses that has some truth . Such as where Jesus (p) said he does not know when will be the last day. Quran teaches us that only God knows about it.

Jesus (p) taught people that **God is greater than all ** . He also told people that he can do nothing with his own power etc . These are the teaching of Quran also . So , I see no problem using these verses as an invitation to understand the truth.
. Instead we find a trinity composed of God the Father, Jesus, and Mary.
in the verse where Mary (p) is mentioned , Trinity is NOT mentioned.

The verse tells us about the wrong act of people . No one deserves to be worshipped except the one true God. We must pray to God only.

God has power over all things . Creations can not be worshipped …only our Creator deserves it.

about trinity , here is the verse :

"and say not, “Three”. Desist, it is better for you;

Allah is only one God; far be it from His glory that He should have a son;

whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His;
and Allah is sufficient for a Protector."

(4:171)

I answered few already …pl. check the thread.

I joined this forum with a very good intention to know about Catholics & their faith . After reading posts in Islam is bad , Islam Ha & other , Satan tempted me to start hating some Christians . I don’t want to do that . So , I started this thread.

Hello Muslim Woman,
This is a very broad question, but i thought i would ask it.
What do you think makes Islam the ‘right’ religion, and why do you think Christianity is wrong?

What was the reason for Jesus being crucified?
I know Islam teaches He was not actually crucified, but what does the Quran say about why He was condemned to crucifixion?
Where in the Qur’ans is proof of Jesus being the Messiah? (Besides simply saying He is the Messiah.)
Why did The God spend so much time preparing for the Messiah just for Jesus’ time on earth to have been supposedly “misinterpreted” by all of His followers?
I apologize Muslim Woman for the insensitivity of any Christians.
On behalf of cathopologist, I do not think he was being rude, I think he was just curious, as am I, why some of my questions were not being addressed and only certain ones were.

No offense, but you did begin the thread asking us if we had questions…the ones at the top of this post are mine.

I am not trying to be rude with my questions. These are questions that I honestly would like to know answers to. Especially the first three…

and when the questioning gets too tough…
high tail it outta here. 😛

Thank you for your answer to my question, Muslim Woman.

I would like you to think more about my second question, though. I am not actually asking about the substance of the verse in the Quran where the trinity of God the Father, Jesus, and Mary is mentioned (it does not bother me if the word “trinity” is not used, as you say; that word is also not used in the Bible). I only used that as an example to illustrate the point I was trying to ask you about: If the Quran is meant to be the final revelation, divine correction of all the falsified books and doctrines that came before it, why does the Quran itself then not accurately portray the doctrines it corrects? It is a big problem for me to understand how a book from God like the Quran is claimed to be can be wrong about this issue (or any issue, but to me this is a very big problem to be dealt with before many others). It really makes very little sense to me.

God surely knows all about his creation, including the human beings who worship Him in many different ways. In the Old Testament, when the people were worshipping idols, He sent down a commandment forbidding the worship of idols. He did not send down a commandment forbidding, say, fishing or the baking of bread, because those were not the sins of the people. Do you understand what I am trying to say? God would not make such a mistake because God does not make ANY mistake, ever, about anything. On that basis, it is hard to swallow the idea of a “corrective” book, especially since Muslims, as you affirm, take the Bible to have at least contained the truth at one time, and now retaining at least some of its former truth.

So I see a dilemma here I would like you to really think about very carefully: In the Bible, the Lord says His Word is eternal. You affirm that the Bible contains at least SOME truth. Is the Lord’s proclamation about the eternal nature of His Word one of those retained truths? If it is, then all of the Quran’s supposed “corrective” power is moot, since the Word does not need correction of any kind. If it is not, then you are saying that the Lord’s Word is NOT eternal, in which case: What is the Quran?

Please if it is possible for you to answer this, do NOT do so with verses from the Quran. The question I am asking does not need to be answered with a “verse war” or what have you, it is merely logical: If (a) God’s Word is eternal, then (b) it does not need correction, so it follows that (c) anything that claims to correct God’s Word is limiting God’s power and/or attributes, violating God’s Word, and hence not from God.

If (a) is true, then (b) is necessarily also true (and vice-versa). For (c) to be FALSE (as it would need to be if we are to accept Islamic teaching on this issue), then (a) has to be false, leading (b) to be false by necessity.

I think you and I, even though we are from different faiths, will agree that God’s Word is indeed eternal. The Quran is claimed to be the word of God, and you would probably also agree that it is eternal in its message (since you still follow it now, many centuries after it was written down). So I do not see how you can agree with Quranic claims that require you to violate your own beliefs. It causes much cognitive dissonance that cannot be resolved.

Please do help me to understand this issue. Thank you.

Which is the true Islam: Sunni, Shi’a, Kharijites, or Kalam?

http://www.islamicity.com/graphics/BLRR.gif

Do you have any question about Islam , Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him ) or holy Quran ?
Dear Muslim Woman,
  1. What is the only food in Hell? Is it fruit from the Tree of Zaqqum [S37.62-68], foul pus from the washing of wounds [S69.36], or bitter Dhari [S88.6]?
  2. Who is the only wali?
  3. Who was the first Muslim? While one can be first in the order of time and another can be first in the strength of his faith, what of the others? Is it Muhammad [S6.14,133], some Egyptians [S26.51], Adam [S2.37], Moses [S7.143], or Abraham [S2.133-137; 3.67]?
  4. Is Satan a djinn [S18.50] or an angel [S2.34; 7.11-12; 15.28-31; 20.116; 38.71-74]? How could he be both? The Quran repeatedly says that ALL angels obey Allah [S16.49-50; 21.19-20; 66.6]. A couple of exceptions is understandable but the Quran says that MANY djinns disobey (sin against) Allah [S55.39] by misleading men, [S6.128-130], thereby going to Hell [S7.38; 41.25; SAB9.93.480]. The Arabic grammatical principle Tagleeb does not resolve this difficulty. Djinns, who can be male or female [SAD1.6], are mortal [S7.38; 41.25; SAB9.93.480] and can urinate [SAB2.21.245; 4.54.492] and pass gas [SAB2.22.323; 4.54.505] and have fiery bodies [S7.12; 15.27; 38.76; 55.15]. They eat bones and dung [SAB5.58.200] and charcoal [SAD1.39]. On the other hand, angels are immaterial, sexless, and immortal.
  5. How is it that a Samaritan made the Golden Calf during the 40 years Moses and the Israelites were in the Sinai Desert [S20.87,94]?
  6. Why does the Quran ban wine on earth, calling it Satanic [S5.91], yet say Muslims are rewarded with literal wine in Paradise [S47.15; 76.5; 83.25]?
God bless you and yours!

I answered few already …pl. check the thread.
Granted, a few (were “answered”) but not all. Even then, the answers were not convincing enough.

You have the right to defend your faith. Nobody is denying you that. You started this thread, presumably to debunk Christian thoughts on Islam, hence the bombardment of questions.
If anyone has any confusion about Islam & REALLY wants to remove the misconception , then pl. ask here . Otherwise , I request to visit other threads where some participants are showing hatred towards Muslims …join them there.
Islam is a confusing religion, IMO, but that does not mean Christians hate Muslims. If a religion has so many see-through-holes, there is bound to be masses running around like headless chickens. So naturally people will wonder why this form of religion, in all its perplexity, still exists.

I think its great if you can provide skeptics the answers they want. All the better for you (and the religion you profess) isn’t it?

Salaam/peace;
… but you did begin the thread asking us if we had questions…the ones at the top of this post are mine.
yes but I don’t know all the answers…I am not a scholar .Also it takes time to write in a foreign language . So , u people must allow me time . There are so many questions , InshaAllah all will be answered , now or later 🙂

Oh, but you did come across as an expert, hoping to disprove skeptics. I guess we were wrong. Don’t have all the answers? Nevermind. Take your time. We have a lifetime to wait. Sirat al-Jahim can wait too.

Salaam/peace;
  1. Who was the first Muslim?
Prophet Adam (p) was the first Muslim.

Other Prophets were among the first to submitted themselves to God in their time.
  1. Is Satan a djinn [S18.50] or an angel [S2.34; 7.11-12; 15.28-31; 20.116; 38.71-74]? How could he be both?
Angels are made of light , satan is made of fire. Iblis/ satan/ devil is a Jinn. He lived with angels .

Angels have no free will & can’t disobey God . Jinns are like human being …they have free choices , can become good or bad. Satan was so good that he almost made himself like angel who never disobeyed God but later he became arrogant & denied to obey God.
  1. Why does the Quran ban wine on earth, calling it Satanic [S5.91], yet say Muslims are rewarded with literal wine in Paradise [S47.15; 76.5; 83.25]?
wine is banned here because it has many bad effects on human being .

They ask you (O Muhammad )
concerning alcoholic drink and gambling.

Say: “In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit.”

2:219

Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling,
and hinder you from the remembrance of Allâh and from As-Salât (the prayer).

So, will you not then abstain?

5:91

In paradise , it won’t harm people . They won’t become drunk , no headache etc. So , it will be allowed there.
God bless you …
may God bless us in this life & the hereafter , Amen.
