So, put up blank tablets and wait for God to inscribe what He wants on them.Kind of like blank stone tablets!Sort of funny when you think God will just inscribe His Laws on them again! You can’t defeat God.

Out of what? You might also explain how the universe got to a low state of entropy in the beginning.“In the beginning, chance created the Heavens and the Earth”.
…
I detected sarcasm in the intent…Out of what? You might also explain how the universe got to a low state of entropy in the beginning.
Some Jewish scholars believe that specific prohibitory law, written out of context with the passages that surround it, has been seriously misinterpreted ever since to indicate there should be a separation of meat and milk products as part of the kosher laws. So, put up blank tablets and wait for God to inscribe what He wants on them.
(I hope he includes the one about not seething a kid in its mother’s milk. (Exodus 23:19) Lots of people leave that one out.)

It must have been, what, a few hundred centuries since anyone had to look that one up as a punishment. Have you encountered many Christians who have told you they’ve punished someone in this manner???So, put up blank tablets and wait for God to inscribe what He wants on them.

I believe the question is: how do you get everything from nothing?I detected sarcasm in the intent…
I believe the question is: how do you get everything from nothing?
Would you accept an “I don’t know and, as far as I’m aware, no one does either” for an answer?I believe the question is: how do you get everything from nothing?
No one? You must have a small circle of acquaintences.… “I don’t know and, as far as I’m aware, no one does either” …
I don’t know how Richard Nixon could have won. I don’t know anybody who voted for him. – New Yorker columnist Pauline Kael after Richard Nixon’s sweeping presidential victory in 1972
With the incredible popularity of recent books championing agnosticism or atheism, many people might never know that such books almost completely ignore the considerable evidence for theism uncovered in both physics and philosophy over the past four decades. New Proofs for the Existence of God responds to these glaring omissions. / From universal space-time asymmetry to cosmic coincidences to the intelligibility of reality, Robert Spitzer tackles a wealth of evidence. He considers string theory, quantum cosmology, mathematical thoughts on infinity, and much more. / This fascinating and stunning collection of evidence provides solid grounding for reasonable and responsible belief in a super-intelligent, transcendent, creative power standing at the origins of our universe.
Yeah, right… from that amazon link: “This fascinating and stunning collection of evidence provides solid grounding for reasonable and responsible belief in a super-intelligent, transcendent, creative power standing at the origins of our universe.”No one? You must have a small circle of acquaintences.
I think you should read the book before judging.Yeah, right… from that amazon link: “This fascinating and stunning collection of evidence provides solid grounding for reasonable and responsible belief in a super-intelligent, transcendent, creative power standing at the origins of our universe.”
(my underline)
Notice that belief is still required… in that case, knowledge is still missing.
Oh well… what’s to be expected of a philosopher/priest who knows a thing or two about physics, but has been out of touch for a while?
My circle of friends stands as not knowing about what happens prior (if this word makes sense in the context) to the Big Bang.
I read the one star reviews… I think that’s enough.I think you should read the book before judging.
So you had belief in them?I read the one star reviews… I think that’s enough.
Are you wanting to equate belief in the reviews people made of a book with belief in the existence of an extraordinary being who may have kick-started the Universe, but leaving so little evidence of it that it’s practically the same as not existing, however people ~5 thousand years ago managed to get in touch with it, but mistook it for several such beings, each in charge of a different natural “force”?So you had belief in them?
I would and do accept “I don’t know” because I say this every day. This is the mystery of faith that we believe (without any scientific proof) every day. Our belief in God includes our belief that He created all things and keep us in continued existence through His Will. Yes, no one on earth today really knows how the universe started but Christians believe. We believe. God bless you.Would you accept an “I don’t know and, as far as I’m aware, no one does either” for an answer?
This is exactly why the Incarnation came into the world. To explain to us the answer as to why we are here, how we should live our lives and give us a gift of redemption by demonstrating the ultimate gift of His sacrifice of Himself for our sins. Oh and He also left a community of believers behind with the instruction to teach His Word to all nations and bring them into the faith through the Sacraments. It would seem that God did not abandon His people after all. The evidence is all around you, the Body of Christ, us.Are you wanting to equate belief in the reviews people made of a book with belief in the existence of an extraordinary being who may have kick-started the Universe, but leaving so little evidence of it that it’s practically the same as not existing, however people ~5 thousand years ago managed to get in touch with it, but mistook it for several such beings, each in charge of a different natural “force”?
Thanks for a very honest reply.I would and do accept “I don’t know” because I say this every day. This is the mystery of faith that we believe (without any scientific proof) every day.
