Well you did say that you wouldn’t comfortable writhing around on the floor- could it be that you are just uncomfortable being under the influence of something greater than you?

Night. I’m fixing to head off myself.🙂
Well, since I don’t believe in the whole “speaking in tongues,” it is very unlikely that it would happen to me in the first place. If by something greater, you mean the priest, then, yes! Well, except the priest at my old Catholic school–he was cool. 🙂

I also have a question for all of you former Catholics who have fallen away:
Have you ever considered that the period in which you started to question Catholicism was a Test of Faith? Maybe God testing you to see how strong your faith was?

If it was a test of faith, you failed. Badly.
It’s as much as a Test of Faith as it was for the ex-Mormons, and the former Protestants, and the former Hindus, and ex-Buddhists, and so on.

Sometimes what seems like a test of faith is actually a realization. Sometimes what seems like a realization is actually a test of faith. You have to have the understanding and foresight to distinguish between the two.

Nope. I mean a greater Being.

Dear OneTrueCathApos;4993832]:

I am a sedevacantist Catholic, I assist at Mass almost daily and on Sundays at The Chapel of The Immaculate Heart of Mary, run by the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor, located at 3376 Mount Read Blvd., Rochester, NY 14616. My Bishops name is Bishop Giles Butler, OFM. He is available for consultations; 585 621 1122.

I have not fallen away from my faith, the One True Faith; you, however have. It’s ironic, is it not?

You are a Protestant, that’s all. You are not a Catholic, and "Outside the Church there is No Salvation For Anyone." *** Rome and its fourth anti-pope and its Cardinals and Bishops, aand its many false priests, lmost all of them as well as the world wide laity, is now in Apostasy and Outside the one, true faith–fact.***. Why do you not join us? You know why. You are “comfortable” with liberalism and modernism, which are condemned and always will be.

–Truthfully yours

Limiting the Mercy of God—fail

Jesus Camp. I felt so sorry for those poor kids. Some of that stuff was bordering on child abuse.

Some scenes, especially that kid, telling that big lady that when he was 5 years year, he felt something was missing from his life, so he turned to Jesus.

What freaking 5 year sits there and ponders how he could turn his life over to Jesus, unless his parents are cramming it down his throat!

Jesus camp, very, very , very disturbing and I watched those scenes when I was a practicing Catholic and I found it very unsettling.
I don’t think those kids would survive in public school. I’d give them a day. :o

But, I guess that’s besides the point. Right when I saw those kids having–pretty much–seizures on the floor and that women speaking in tongues at almost random moments, that was proof enough, for me, that it was complete–dare I say-- nonsense.

Nice save.

So am I to understand that God prefers one human language over another?
Are you sure that the matters changed were Doctrine and not Discipline?
Discipline can change. Doctrine cannot.
**Veritas248;4993807

I stand by what I say and there are many flourishing heresies perpatrated again real doctrine in the NewChurch now, a result of poor discipline true enough mostly through RANK DISOBEDIENCE by “Official” Leaders and modernism, political correctness and socail libertinism!

BY THE WAY:

I and others with whom I am acquainted have studied Church History and The Second Vatican Council for years now; we read volumnously on what has transpired in The NEWCHURCH and stay well informed and study the publications from many other Church Councils, and have done this for years for years–We are Only interested in the Truth. We have no social or political ax to grind! go here:forChrist-contramundum.com Read what is published there. It’s often quite sad, and a real eye opener when it comes to the Bad Fruits of Vatican Two and Its Anti-Pope, Benedict-Ratzinger, and his many errors and blasphemous statements. It contains some very good spiritual information and it is linked to the Friary to which we belong…

What’s “it”? Please don’t tell me “Christianity.” You struck me as having more sense than to think that one American Pentecostal church camp is representative of 2000 years of Christianity!

And I completely disagree with you about these kids surviving in public school. In fact, I hear from other non-Christians, particularly those who have kids in public school, that conservative evangelicalism often dominates public schools. Which is it?

Edwin

Jesus did promise that the Church would be protected from the Gates of Hell.
What do you propose that meant?
For heretics to deliberately change the Church, Jesus would have to be made a liar.
Stop acusing me of writing words I have not written. I state facts and imply almost nothing.

First of all, you give me a broken link.
Second, as to “liberalism”, “modernism”, and “political correctness”, you’ll have to give me some specific examples. If you want me to listen to you, explain your position more calmly.

I’m DEAD serious.
So was my sarcasm. :rotfl:] Dude, seriously, this comes back to our dicussion about “the right path being dependent on you.”

When the Mormon doubted, it was a Test of Faith. When Hindu doubted, it was a Test of Faith. When the Buddhist doubted, it was a Test of Faith. And it goes on and on and on…

Many religions-- except for a precious few-- do not want you leave. So, doubt in them is always a “Test of Faith.”

I was referring to speaking in tongues.

And yes, those kids from the documentary, not religious kids in general. :o

This is wrong. The right path is dependent on what is objectively true.

Dear Veritas248;4994020

What does that mean? The real Truth is always merciful. Its acceptance is filled with pain and suffering often.

–mhpierce–
You said that there is no salvation outside the Church.
That means you think the mercy of God is limited to those inside the Church.
God can save whoever he wants. He is not limited by human convention.

Please be kind to yourself and go back and read what I have stated in many places in this Thread…What more can I say.

—Atheists need to know the truths of Catholicism, not Vatican Two lies and heresies.

–The present Vatican Two Church and its leaders are not The Catholic Church–there is only a remnant of real Catholics left in the world.

–The Great Apostasy is here now, and it was promulgated by diobedience to traditions, doctrines and dogmas.

–You cannot have a New Church that is called Catholic, that is so different and filled with errors as the present one run by Rome is. there was no need and there is never any need to “Change” Catholicism and what it teaches and to change any of its liturgies. there is no need to change revealed Truth–That is Tempting God and Heretical and Sacreligious…

–The Real Catholic Church is traditional and its Sacraments cannot be changed by anyone, even a Pope.

–If they are than that Pope is an anti-pope and a heretic, and must not be given andy credibility.

–The publications of The Council of Trent are the defense against modernism and yet we have the debacle of Vatican Two and now live in a World Wide Aposatsy against the One True Faith–all predicted, by the way, by many Sainst and real Popes!

–The Novus Ordo Missae, that many who write on this Thread apparently attend is not a Mass–but an abomination–in which nothing takes place (no Consevration) and it is a sin of idolatry to attend it. Look up all of these facts i just listed, again, on the Internet and you will find them, with long explanations, in abundance.

May you find peace in Christ’s Teachings…

Well, I have access to both the documents of Vatican II and the Documents of the Council of Trent, so I’ll do some comparison and see for myself.
(What does the word “Consevration” mean?)

You said that there is no salvation outside the Church.
That means you think the mercy of God is limited to those inside the Church.
God can save whoever he wants. He is not limited by human convention.
Veritas248;4994127]:

It is a truth that one can be saved by baptism of desire and blood, if the person is outside the ***Church but desires to enter–That person is saved by God–who is not Outside His Church, and is also not limited by anything. *** One who has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, but truly desires it, and to be part of God’s Truths, which are Catholic, can be saved by desire and blood.

The Revealed Chrurch contains God’s real Sacraments; God is all knowing, all merciful and all just, knows true deise when he reads hearts and may and will save those who desire His Gospel…

Becoming a true member of The Catholic Church and receiving its Sacraments is the only means of real salvation, for anyone. That is a doctrine.

I am sorry that God’s revealed Truths and their explication upset a lot of Atheists and others, but that’s their problem, actually, as many of them are too Proud to accept revealed Truths they may find antiquated or unacceptable for many reasons, but these Truths are only Housed in God’s Real Catholic Church and God reads the depth of a souls pride–as only He can.

You are correct, God is not limited by human convention–and not limited by mere human prideful conventions of the heart as well!

You should know all of this as it is Catholicism 101!
