Actually some believe the earth is about 6,000 years old. Back then people had prophets and people like Moses to guide them.
Unfortunately for those ignorant and mis-informed people, China has a recorded history of about 10,000 years.

The earth beginning 6000 years ago, is a full 4000 years after agricultures beginnings.

What’s your point?

That there are some really thick and ignorant people in the world?

I never said that life was meaningless. Life has great, even extraordinary meaning. Your interpretation of a life without God, is one without meaning.

Do not put words in my mouth.
Pray tell, what is this extraordinary meaning you claim life has?

Nature, love, poetry, art, literature, friends, family, the cosmos, language, children, history, civilization, science, medicine, astronomy, physics and that’s just for starters.

Do you have proof to show that China has been around for 10,000 years? This is news to me.

What gives these things meaning? Humans? Then what gives humans any meaning?

If there is nothing after this life then nothing can have any value.

Jiahu 7000 B.C.

Agriculture began 10,000 B.C. I was off by 3,000 years on china’s history, as I confused the number 10,000 with agricultures beginnings.

If you want to learn more, simply research the term ’ pre-history’.

There is no real overall category for smarter, you will have to be specific smarter in what?
More advanced how? I don’t really understand what you mean.
I mean overall intelligence, I’m just wondering if you believe you are generally more intelligent than a theist.

What a sad state of mind you must have. You seriously cannot be happy or find meaning in anything without eternal life? That’s very sad, indeed.

How did your ancestors every get by for the 198,000 years without Jesus and eternal life?

Would you rather not think about that?

Right. If the entire universe was to suddenly implode, wiping everything out, if there is nothing higher than the universe, any and all perceived meanings were for naught. Either something else exists to give the universe innate purpose, or the universe has no purpose and is just the product of chemical processes. Mindless chemical processes.

Precisely!

Wondrous, isn’t it?

Now, get out there and enjoy your life, as we are all so fortunate to have this rare, albeit brief opportunity to experience consciousness!

Again…some believe that man dates back to 6,000 years ago and they had the prophets and Moses to guide them.

  1. If I have no innate meaning, if I wasn’t created for something, than any meaning I try to give is a waste of time. Not sad at all.
  2. Since the gates of Heaven were not open to anyone until Jesus, the spirits of the righteous dead waited in limbo until Jesus came to open the gates. I really don’t see a problem with this.

You don’t see a problem, because you refuse to think. You also don’t to keep up with Catholic theology.

limbo has been abandoned by the Church. Limbo does not, never has existed according to your Church.

No, then there would be nothing to enjoy. Since my very thoughts would be nothing more than chemical processes, it’d be completely and utterly pointless to ascribe any meaning to them. Consciousness would be no more important than digestion.

Again…some believe that man dates back to 6,000 years ago and they had the prophets and Moses to guide them.
Your own Catholic Church does not even believe the earth is 6,000 years old.

Circular, I’m done with you.

No, then there would be nothing to enjoy. Since my very thoughts would be nothing more than chemical processes,
They are chemical processes, even with a belief in God.

If you need a God to get you out of bed in the morning, that’s your problem.

I’m banging my head against the wall talking to you. I get it, you need a God and the promise of eternal life to feel good about yourself and to give your life meaning. Your need a God to comfort you when things suck.

Even if this God is invisible and 99.9% of human beings who have ever lived, have never worshiped this particular brand of God, no matter, it is your God and is THE TRUTH.

Fail. You fail to think. There are two limbos that were taught by the Church. The limbo of the fathers and the limbo of the infants. The limbo of the fathers is specifically inferred in scripture, when it says that Jesus went to preach to the souls in prison. This limbo no longer exists, as its purpose was served. The limbo of the infants as offered as an explanation to the problem of unbaptized infants, but it was never accepted as doctrine.
That is what is really taught.

Ain’t religion great! You can just make stuff up as you go along and no one is the wiser!

I’ve said all I have to say to you, your not listening. I’ve clearly answered your questions, to no effect.
