Atlanta Police Walk Out

The idea of protecting the “Brotherhood” should come to an end.
I think this is more of myth perpetuated by television. Does anyone work at a job where the lazy are tolerated, or the incompetent protected by those that get blamed for their sloppy work? Why is it assumed police do the same thing. There was no sick-out, walk-off or complaint from police over what happened to Mr. Floyd. Even in Atlanta, where the circumstance is not so clear, most police stay on the job.

The DA in this case came out at recently as a few weeks ago stating that tasers are lethal weapons. Yet yesterday he had the gall to say that this Brooks guy was nothing but peaceful and cordial to the police. This, all the while a video is playing in the background showing him resisting arrest then grabbing a taser and shooting it at the cops.😡

I can attest to this I work in schools. I’ve seen kids curse out principles, teachers . . . etc.

There are more and more school children that are disrespectful of authority.

Destroying important institutions based on the heinous acts of a few
Can’t you see, that is just a proximate excuse. They have been pining away to destroy institutions for a long time. This is opportunistic. There is no reason people in Seattle need to protest LEOs in Minneapolis except opportunism. These are the same actors as the Occupy movement who want to camp out and party and invite the homeless in, as if they can offer a better lot in life.

My cousin is a retired police officer. He did not adhere to the code of silence or something similar to it. His belief in the Bible was greater. He took down over a dozen cops. Some were partners. When word reached the ears of the Chief of Police that there was talk of putting a hit out on him, he started getting promotions to get him out of harms way. He eventually ended up as Captain of the IT department. A safe cushy desk job answerable only to the Chief of Police. And when he retired, He moved 100 miles away to be a Pentecostal Pastor for a Church of God and to be somewhat safer against those cops he put in jail when they got out. During the 70s, my step-dad was part of the same police department’s Mafia and that came from his own mouth.

A coworker has a son in the same department. When asked about it, he says it exists on the down low and off the record.

So, no, you’re not and you’re going to tell any black person that doesn’t trust police that they are wrong.
Mistrust of police is either valid or invalid, and while mistrust may be higher among blacks, that alone doesn’t make the perception valid. To answer your question though: there is no general reason to mistrust the police, by blacks or anyone else. This is a very grave misperception that has been deliberately created.

Did I ask you? Really? A fifth grade taunt? You’re posting on a forum. If you want to ask a specific person a specific question and get just one single response then PM them.

It’s all, obviously unfortunate. I don’t think they should have shot Brooks, the situation should have been remedied somehow else. I saw and if anyone wants a link to it, I can find it later, where an African American Sheriff from Georgia said it was a legitimate use of force.

I don’t think shooting Brooks was needed but proving it’s some degree of murder is going to be something else. I’m not sure if it’s negligent homicide, manslaughter or any of these things. We need to improve this situation.

At times, I wonder how it would have been if they had just overpowered Brooks to begin with at the start of this whole episode.

I gotta disagree with you on this. Want to see very clear evidence of “the brotherhood”? Look at the other 3 officers when Floyd was being killed.

Outside of the cities run by leftists for generations and a few rural spots still run by Southern Democrats, blacks have little to fear from Pd.

Whoever runs a city has nothing to do with whether or not cops are often racist, biased, and won’t seek justice for you if one of them does evil to you.

It absolutely does.

The police works for the Chief whi works for the mayor or city council who are elected.

Want a change in your law enforcement? Lean on the mayor.

I’m sorry to hear that. But I can only imagine things will get worse if we continue on this trajectory.

My gentle suggestion is to be prepared for a lack of response by prepping oneself with learning advanced cpr and aed plus advanced first aid. Have a walkie talkie and a first aid bag too. Use radio bc there will be outages of internet and cell towers.

Until this gets better and resolved, be prepared to help others.

Peace to you

Look at the other 3 officers when Floyd was being killed.
Those three had to stay silent, as they were complicit and facing charges. However, police across the country have condemned those officers. There was no attempt to protect them because they were police. Maybe it does just vary place to place. Here, our code is we protect others by never putting them in a situation to lie or cover for you. The one that commits a crime is not protected. The one that makes a mistake must answer for it without expectation of anyone lying or covering up that mistake.

But there is a new consideration with this generation, though it only applies to mistakes, not crimes. Discipline by punishment is not really all that effective. It is not that mistakes are covered up, but that they are addressed differently. One way is to review all mistakes, including those made miles away. All this stuff we see and discuss here is used to learn from the mistakes of others.
