Look at it this way: Think of the coronavirus like a big flood. The governor tells everyone to stay home and off the roads because if they are out emergency vehicles can’t get through. Worse, using the roads will make the floods much worse and more people will die. Some pastors want their flock out on the roads anyway? That’s irresponsible.

So folks call the governor anti-Christian? That doesn’t make sense.

Nepperhan . . .
The governor tells everyone to . . .
Yeah but how does this (or not this) cause infections in people sitting in their car in a Church parking lot but not say, in the police in for instance two different cops in two different police cars at a given stop light??

The Catholic Church said stay home.
The Pope did also.
That’s good enough for me

That tells me the financial impact to you is nil. Which is not to diminish the effects you feel at all, but if I am correct, you are one of many preaching about how to handle the situation in ways that dramatically effect those people economically and financially. You can’t do that if you have no skin in that game.

It would like me having a natural immunity to the virus and telling people to suck it up and get back to work. Easy to do when I don’t have to actually deal with it.

I don’t know how you calculate my skin. It is fascinating.
First, I am resigned to the fact that there is no good solution at this point.
Second, I see options clearly. With the help of my faith, I am one of the rare primates who can reason when to let go of the banana.
I don’t know your issues but you clearly became antagonistic a ways back.
If you lived long enough you know money can be made back. Look at Trump. Health cannot. I have a family they are my skin.

Nepperhan to @Dr_Meinheimer . . . .
Philosophers say that the truth is the truth no matter who speaks it.
Thank you Nepperhan for your support of Breitbart News!

There is no truth here. Only best guesses and opinion, which Maximus is welcome to. But the ignorance and sanctimony we see on these boards some times about people needing to do their part and stay shut in isn’t grounded in reality, especially from posters of a more liberal bent who typical calling card is caring for the poor, so they claim.

Being lectured about what people who can’t pay their bills need to do when you aren’t being pinched financially is galling.

Provide a solution for the millions who have and will continue to lose jobs, income, or who can’t make ends meet and we can talk. I am not interested in being told businesses need to remain closed by people who have pensions, guaranteed pay from a government entity, or who can telework. The majority of America has none of those options.

Your skin is a mystery still. Are you enlisting other men’s skin in your game?
Concerned for them and also eager to march them into a pandemic.
There are two bad choices here not one.

And yet many have no issue choosing one and effectively saying “too bad.” Unless those people can propose a solution that mitigate the disastrous outcome of that choice, they aren’t really in a position to tell folks to go without food and income, are they?

I’m not telling them to go without anything.
And you are not offering them anything they can count on.
You can’t promise anything except medical bills and maybe death.
Till you can don’t get righteous offering death.

don’t get righteous offering death.
That’s just it Maximus1.

Speaking for myself here . . .

Remaining “holed up” when you can’t, offers death.
Just like tanking the economy would do on a wide scale.

This is WHY you are starting to see more widespread unrest over FORCING this issue.

Just ask Venezuela about how benevolent a tanked economy is.

I’m saying anyone promoting a shutdown as a solution is not proposing a solution. Likewise, anyone saying 100% business as usual is not proposing a solution.

Yet, I hear many, even on this board, promoting solution that dooms more than half the country. What I would like to see is those promoting this shutdown also proposing a way to pay for the folks affected, or simply propose a better alternative.

If you have one, I am open to it. I’m not looking to see people die of COVID19, nor am I looking to see people starve. But apparently some are okay with that. At the end of the day, some are comfortable saying some lives are more valuable than others. I doubt God see it this way, but many on here do, unsurprisingly.

I know the same problem you do. That’s a no brainier.
You have nothing to offer as a solution. Unless a stampede is your idea of a sollution

Today DeSantis let farms in central Florida plow their crops under because the cruise ship market died.
Watch the video.
Lots of food lots of people could have eaten.
Does he want a solution? Years ago I handled some cases for the DOI in Florida. They passed the most draconian workers comp statute ever up to that time. They literally set aside a 7 figure sum for therapy to help cope with living in the street.
When I went to visit the specialists I worked with in Tallahassee, I could not get upstairs in the elevator as I previously had. I called and was told someone would come down and get me.
When I asked why the locked elevator I was told due to the nature of the new GOP passed law, there was a memo and expectation someone might come and shoot someone.
Everyone knew what was done to working men.
And today with long soup lines, they plowed under their string beans and stuff.
You ask what can be done? Nothing with this bunch but wait and struggle. Because the kids have little use for a dead breadwinner.

Sure I do. Not a complete solution but something doable.

I have already posted it here on CAF many times.

Widespread testing (medical personnel turning away people because they are basically forced to ration the tests is not going to cut it anymore). We need over-the-counter testing. Just like home pregnancy testing.

Hand sanitizer on the shelves of the store (it is beginning to reappear on the web).

N95 masks on the shelves in the store (likewise reappearing on the web. We need it at Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. too) and in the hands of the American people.

Social distancing.

Opening up channels of grace by opening our Churches again (using appropriate safety measures).

More aggressive treatment EARLIER.
Hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin and remdesivir are good starts.

My wife and I talked to a friend of her’s earlier tonight who is a nurse that took care of a patient that died from Corona Virus.

Now she is infected and sick. She is quarentining at home. When she asked to be treated with hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin she was told no. They need the medicine for arthritis patients. Suffering with a fever (even now as I write this) home alone sick she called the nurse practitioner again the next day who began swearing at her and told her “No!” to her being treated.

This is unacceptable. That was part of the whole purpose of the Government going out and procuring MORE hydroxychloroquine. So BOTH sets of patients could be treated. Pray for her please.

Vinyl, plastic, or whatever gloves need to be back on the shelves.

More aggressive influenza testing and treating (Tamiflu) needs to be done too. We can’t be confusing Corona with the flu. Clinically they sound like in some people, they can be indistinguishable and we need to KNOW.

Not be sent home and told, “You got a bug”.

I think OTC influenza testing ahould be developed too.

Some modifications at places of work (already going on. Businesses now have plexiglas “sneeze guards” up - many of them).

Those that can, want to, or have a particular vulnerabilty (some of the old, sick, etc.) can choose for themselves to “hole up” even more completely.

The whole country will need widespread antibody testing.

Vaccines will be an option that will probably be FORCED on many. But Corona Virus is already having genetic drift, so this will be of limited usefulness.
It may wind up like the flu vaccine needing to be re-formulated annually (and even then, marginally effective in some).

In the case of flu, Tamiflu has been a God-send for many people. Hopefully we can do something like that for Corona Virus.

Domestication of production of important things in the area of manufacturing again. Both tools and pharmaceuticals. It is time to bring these businesses home.

Quit hassling firearm producers. If our military or police ever need these, and we drive manufacturing of this OUT of the country, it could be a disaster.

Teach individuals to think more self-sufficiently. Use public relations campaigns for this, instead of urging them to get on food stamps (like the Obama administration did).

Urge and facilitate home ownership instead of more concentrated living arrangements. I think that gives people a sense of self-reliance that they don’t have in a concentrated living environment.

Breaking up large mega-companies. So we as American consumers have diverse supply sources, there are more jobs, etc.

Maybe if we did not have to depend on Wal Mart and Amazon (etc.) for distribution of generic Tylenol, we could purchase it.

Having a right-attitude. Trump isn’t responsible for hurricanes, worldwide pandemics, and proverbial eathquakes. This running around pretending he is, is divisive and hurts the country.

Put America first. Then we will be in a position again where we can help others out.

Don’t blow-off the spiritual dimension to this. Murdering innocent babies will have consequences.
Sin has consequences, but especially murder.

These are just a few of my suggestions to get America back to work again.
