How can so many people have an opinion on comments made by a Bishop in Australia. Does anyone even have a clue on demographics of that Diochese .
Some of these ridicules stories have a half life of uranium.
My wife was flicking through the channels this morning and and this old story was actually a topic.
Although the lead-in was the Catholic Church says women are too choosey.

Most people can offer opinions on anything/everything, when prompted. I have no idea what the demographics of that particular diocese are, but I think a lot of people world over can relate to the subject matter, especially here in the western world.

It’s just a topic of conversation.🙂

If the topic excluded the Bishops remarks.
And was “are women too choosy when seeking a husband”
My experience most women are awful when choosing a partner. The jerks my nieces and grandnieces and friends family have choosen is incredible.
I say partners since co-habitation and out of wedlock children are the norm. Which usually are marginally supported by the father if at all.
I talking about women of all educational backgrounds.
This in the US. It could be different elseware.
Dr Janet Smith has a theory on this phenomenon

The Church teaches that we get but one shot at marriage - no do-overs. And now the Church is saying not to be “too picky” when making this supposedly life-long choice?

This is just absurd.
In my personal experiences it seems like the majority of available ladies simply won’t give a guy a chance. I don’t know if that makes them “too picky” or just noncommittal.
Women don’t become “too picky” in a vacuum. Men need to step it up. Women have every right to be picky, especially when you consider that in the traditional model of marriage where women are primarily responsible for child-rearing, the man can leave her and the children homeless and destitute on a whim. And that can happen even when you are very picky, because the bottom line is that no one knows for sure what choices people will make in the future.
My problem is that most of my closest female relations have an incredibly high opinion of me to the point of regularly praising me and saying things along the lines of, “your (future) wife is going to be so lucky” or “every girl wants/needs a guy like you” etc. I feel like I’m doing everything the right way, living a good life (stable career, financially solid), I’m strong & active in my Catholic faith, I’m physically fit & exercise regularly, etc, etc, etc.

Like I stated previously, I don’t think this is on me as much as it is on the ladies who won’t give me further consideration even if we’re about as compatible as anyone could desire.
I think this has to do with your philosophy of how God affects your everyday life.

If you believe that God has picked a spouse for you and it’s your job to find him/her, you have to be extremely picky.

If you believe that you could actually live quite well with any number of people in your immediate area, then you will pick one of them and start your life
.
I previously thought along the lines of the red statement and now I’m right in line with the blue statement. I’ve made several “picks” but they haven’t picked up on me. In ain’t like buying a DVD at Walmart.
I honestly keep coming back to this article again and again because I found it, through my personal experience, to be overwhelmingly true. It breaks my heart personally and in a more broad sense, too, because I’m just an average guy who apparently (at least based on my interactions with Catholic women) isn’t good enough for the lot of them.

I wish Catholic women would be more reasonable in their demands.
I’m probably the most frustrated guy you’ll meet when it comes to dealing with the ladies. Don’t get down on yourself and if someone thinks you’re not good enough for them then I wouldn’t be taking any further interest.
