Interesting…
  1. Fail to read the work at hand (Bible)
  2. Write an opinion on the unread work
    b) Make sure it conforms to someone else’s work
    c) Package it differently
  3. Committ a self-sealing argument fallacy in the promotion of the work

Aussie priest denies Jesus is God
…And for an encore, went on to prove that black was white, and got run over at the nearest Zebra crossing.

It’s just absolutely unbelievable that this priest is still in his post. What on earth is his bishop doing? He is leading his flock astray and doing untold damage to the Church. I first saw this on Facebook so people are looking at it and discussing it. It’s a gift for enemies of Holy Mother Church.

Some priests are doing more harm than good. They do not know what a Catholic should believe. If the priest doesnot agree with the Catholic teachings, it is better that he leaves the church and follow his whims and fancies.

This priest needs to be excommunicated not only for the sake of his soul but for the sake of his parishioner’s souls as well.

Jesus selected his Apostles.

His apostles selected their successors and by these Holy Orders priests are ordained. “These they set before the Apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands upon them…” Acts 6:6

If Jesus is not God, then he was never a priest.

He just invalidated his own credibility and he must be ashamed for living a lie every day.

Mark

Correct, Mark. What is worrying me is that he is being allowed to continue. surely Rome knows about this.

He needs to be immeditately laicized. He needs to be a “gone pecan” (this rhymes if you’re Cajun). He needs to make like a horse muffin and “hit the road.” Or make like an banana and split. He needs to put an egg in his shoe and “beat it.”

I think someone is having a bit of fun here folks. No bishop would put up with this sort of scandalous nonsense.Ellie Mary.

I suspect a certain Australian bishop will be getting a “friendly visit” from the papal nuncio 😉
The article in the OP mentioned problems in two different diocese. In the case of St. Mary’s (Archdiocese of Brisbane), Archbishop Bathersby apparently will begin proceedings on Dec. 1 to excommunicate the entire church.

The problem with Fr. Dresser falls under the jurisiction of the Diocese of Bathurst (Bishop Dougherty), which is part of the Archdiocese of Sydney (Cardinal Pell).

I’m surprised that Cardinal Pell has allowed Fr. Dresser to continue in his ways. The cardinal has been a strong voice for orthodoxy.

The priest’s comments bother me. Does he realize that Church accepts homosexuals? Also, the Church leadership is there to maintain unity. If every parish was doing its own thing, what Church would we have?

All I can say is that is very sad. This parish can no longer belong to the Body of Christ if it sets up its own rules - if there are any rules. It is blantant anarchy. Why have they been given another month to insult Christ and His Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church? This hurts the whole body of Christ which is the Church, you me and millions on other Catholics.

No one ever tried to say it was easy to follow Christ. Our Lord warned us it would be hard and for some impossible. The only way is to follow the magesterium and accept the authority given to the bishops by Jesus Himself through the apostles and, through them the bishops.

Queensland, AUS is apparently a breeding ground for liberal fancy-free catholics.

sure is… I live in Brisbane myself.
luckly Im an Eastern Catholic and have my own community here so I dont have to deal with the problems if I dont want to…but at times when i feel the need to go to a weekday Mass (as my church doesnt celbreate the divine liturgy on weekdays generaly) to recieve Communion Im struck by the lack of reverance and the strange qusi-prostestant/new age feel to the Church…this is the Cathedial that I go to…
sadly the closest Latin Church to my unit is in fact the church in question “St Mary’s south brisbane”…I went to it once for sunday Mass…walked out 15 mins l8ter and have never been back…beautiful church though both on the outside and the inside. Lets pray she becomes a Catholic Church again.

i’ve never been to a qld catholic church but i have a few protestant friends in qld who attend a lot of charismatic catholic ventures because it’s ‘unifying the church’ apparently catholicism in qld is very ‘protestant’ like… im glad i dont live there!! i hope it gets back on track for your sake!!

I live in Sydney and you have your facts wrong here! Bathurst is a country town hundreds of kilometers from Sydney and is in its own Diocese, it is definitely not part of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

It is true that the Archbishop of Brisbane has been far too lax in maintaining Catholic orthodoxy in his diocese. He has allowed many theological aberations to go on for years.

What these priests are doing is truly scandalous. For the sake of their own souls and those of their parishioners they must be dealt with strongly and soon!

No human being can ever be God, and Jesus was a human being. It is as simple as that.
Utterly unbelievable. How on earth could Christianity be worth anything without the Trinity and the incarnation? They are its entire philosophical foundation, the mysteries that set it utterly apart from every other belief system.

Thank you, I appreciate the correction! 😊
I guess Cardinal Pell is absolved of any negligence.
