MELBOURNE, Australia — A solid majority of Australians voted in favor of same-sex marriage in a historic survey that, while not binding, paves the way for Parliament to legally recognize the unions of gay and lesbian couples.

Of 12.7 million Australians who took part in the survey, 61.6 percent voted yes and 38.4 percent voted no, officials announced on Wednesday morning. Participation was high, with 79.5 percent of voting-age Australians taking part.

“The Australian people have spoken, and they have voted overwhelmingly ‘yes’ for marriage equality,” said Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who had called the national survey as a way to put pressure on conservative lawmakers, many from his own party. “They voted ‘yes’ for fairness, they voted ‘yes’ for commitment, they voted ‘yes’ for love.”

Now Australia. I am shook. They are going to end up like Canada and the rest of the other countries. Will all nations be legalizing this act?

An Australian member on the forum commented the Aussie PM would have pushed for it even if No won. The survey isn’t binding.

Interesting. Well i guess the will of the people show that they want it legalized. I guess in democracy, the laws of society reflect its values. I guess it would be easy to pass this bill into law now because the people want it

Wow. Marriage equality opponents got trampled. I’m not surprised. Congratulations Australia!

Fun fact: Legal marriage is not a sacrament.

The politicians are indicating that they are unwilling to grant any exceptions to the obligations of others to provide services to same sex marriages, other than to religious celebrants. [Apparently that is sufficient to preserver religious freedoms.] A photographer/videographer cannot decline to prepare a beautiful memento in pictures and video for a same sex ceremony if he ordinarily provides that service to marriages of man+woman. I imagine in due course, educational curricula will recognise the need to broaden sex education “appropriately”.

Why would they? even that will not last since 61.6 percent of voters think were prejudiced, hateful, homophobic bigots and 20.5% of the population couldn’t care less. Now they’ll put it into the Schools and it’s just a matter of time until the scales tip further in their favor and they start their persecution. Like every other kind of fascism, it will not last, but unfortunately there will be much to suffer in the mean time.

What a dramatic picture you included. And also a completely irrelevant one, as we are not discussing Hitler’s genocidal thoughts, but the concept of a secular nation allowing a practice that is only frowned upon by the religious. Don’t make yourself out to be some gloriously defiant and heroic person like that man.

Please stop trying so hard to be persecuted; it really detracts from your overall credibility to be so dramatic.

We will see. Your folly will be made plain for all to see, that’s if I live through it.
Romans 1:18-31

The Guilt of Mankind

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse; 21 for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man or birds or animals or reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct. 29 They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.
“For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

I want off this planet.
Just stay true and remember ‘Jesus, I trust in you’ that’s what I plan to do, to just ride it out, because it will not last, it’s destined to collapse. I just hope I don’t have to suffer too much and I can live through it all. To be like that guy in the image from Nazi Germany.

God Bless You

So, once again a nation decides that marriage need not be marital. Why not just legalize four sided triangles while we’re at it?

Archbishop of Sydney responds:

The Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Most Rev. Anthony Fisher OP, says he is both disappointed and heartened by the result of the National Marriage Postal Survey on changing the legal definition of marriage in Australia.

“While I do not deny the good will of many who voted Yes, I am deeply disappointed that the likely result will be legislation to further deconstruct marriage and family in Australia,” Archbishop Fisher said.
“But I am heartened that millions of Australians still stand by the conviction that marriage is a unique relationship between a man and woman. In fact, only 48% of eligible voters voted Yes to redefining marriage in law.”
“To the many already-married couples and those contemplating it I say: don’t let this decision dishearten you or undermine your appreciation of the sanctity of real marriage.”
Archbishop Fisher said he wished to acknowledge all those who had courageously spoken up for traditional marriage in very difficult circumstances.
“From the outset it has often seemed a David and Goliath struggle with politicians, corporates, celebrities, journalists, professional and sporting organisations drowning out the voices of ordinary Australians and pressuring everyone to vote Yes,” the Archbishop said. “What’s remarkable is how many stuck to their guns and voted No or abstained.”
“I recognise that for some people this debate has been a cause of distress. It is time now to come together as a nation, renew our friendships with those who think differently to us, and ensure that respect for different beliefs is clearly enshrined in our laws and customs.”

_Archbishop Fisher said it was vital that new marriage legislation protects rights to religious belief and expression, free speech and association, in education and parenting.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has previously said he believes in religious freedom “even more strongly” than in same-sex marriage and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has promised to ensure that any marriage redefinition also respects freedom of religion.
“Lame proposals to protect ministers of religion and places of worship offer no protection to the 99.9% of religious believers who are not clergy,” the Archbishop said. "It is imperative that our political leaders enact laws that protect the rights of all, religious believers included.
"Many of those who voted Yes and celebrate today’s ‘victory’ no doubt do so out of love and respect for same-sex attracted people. Many of us No voters likewise count same-sex attracted people among family, friends, colleagues and neighbours and we abhor bigotry, vilification or discrimination against them. We trust that our community can show a similar generosity of spirit towards those with religious faith.
“As we create a legal ‘right’ to marry a person of the same sex, we must not trade off existing rights to religious belief and expression, and other freedoms. There is room in the Australian public square for both. Surely it is not beyond the wit and good will of our political leaders to progress both concerns.”

God Bless You Most Rev. Archbishop Anthony Fisher, he’s a good man, but unfortunately he is very naïve in this regard, the best thing the Church in Australia can do is regain control of their Schools, which are more like secular education than religious, otherwise Gender Theory will roll right across them and such youth indoctrinated by such programs will become enemies of the Church and our persecutors.

They cannot be reactive, they must be proactive, they should know Catholic Schools will be hit next (if not already) and start fortifying them, especially when it comes to government funding which will certainly be removed if they even attempt to resist Gender Theory indoctrination or teach Catholicism in Catholic Schools.
